Shyne sat with her feet up on the table of her work cubical as she waited for her friend to get back with their food. It was break time and Shyne was hungry. Her eyes glinted in the dim light of her dingy little office as she sat back. If her boss came by she would be scolded for putting her feet on the table but she didn’t really care cause it wasn’t hurting anyone.
During this time she was trying to remember what she had ordered her co-worker and friend to go. Was it pie? No-- didn’t I have that yesterday? Hmm…Strawberries? Nope. She was scouring her brain intently for what she had ordered, and getting somewhat irritated that it had slipped her mind and she had only just ordered it. Sighing she sat up properly and bang her head against the table. “Owwww!” Shyne cried loudly, earning a ‘Shhh!’ from the person next door. She glared at the rubbing the producing bump.
Meanwhile Travis- Shyne’s blond haired and green eyed friend was currently standing in a large line in the cafeteria. Heaving a deep sigh he stepped forward lazily holding his change in his hand. “Next!” Was the barbaric cry of the woman behind the selection of food which didn’t look so appetizing. Trudging forward he looked at the woman calmly. “What do you call this junk? It looks like someone has eaten something disgusting and threw it back up making it look even worse.” The woman scowled at her, before he turned his attention away from her- ignoring her completely, which on her part made her fume- and looking at the one thing which looked edible.
24 golden muffins. Smirking Travis pointed at them. “I want them- all of them” The woman glared at him which he brushed off easily with a cool stare of his own. She handed him the tray and he took it, being careful not to burn his hands, and paid for it before trudging up the stairs and into his shared office.
While this was happening Shyne was still brooding over the subject of what she got. Suddenly she snapped her fingers and stood up. “By golly I have it” She said dramatically. Smirking she crossed her arms. “I ordered-”
“Muffins.” Said a cool voice behind her. Slumping back into her chair she bent over backwards slightly to see her work mate with a dramatic scowl.
“Do you always have to do that? You spoiled my fun!” He shrugged and put down the tray of golden muffins.
“I have a bet.” Travis said softly, making her eyes snap up at him then nod. “Who ever eats twelve muffins first will be the winner and will have to pay for dinner later on.”
Grinning Shyne nodded. “Your on.” Rolling up her sleeves she grinned. “It’s muffin time.”
Travis shouted a loud ‘GO!’ before they both started eating at un unhealthy pace. Suddenly Shyne’s plate was finished and with a loud ‘BURP!’ signalling sahe had finished she sat back proudly. “I won!”
