Description:

Mutation: Siryn possesses sonic powers similar to those of her father Banshee, although she is able to use her powers in ways that he apparently cannot. Like her father, she can emit high-decibel "sonic screams". She can also vary the pitch to deflect projectiles, and she even used it to deflect lasers once. She possesses an enhanced sense of hearing and can use her voice for echolocation. While screaming Siryn is able to fly, apparently due to a limited psionic ability, at Mach 1 speeds. Siryn has especially potent sonic attacks. She can shatter objects, project sonic force, or cause pain and unconsciousness.
Siryn is able to subtly influence and control others with her sonic voice, as well as cause them to enter a trancelike hypnotic state. This ability likens her to the mythical Sirens. Siryn can prevent others from hearing external sounds so that she can secretly deliver messages to them.
Siryn has developed the ability to influence human beings with a certain pitch of her voice, causing them to fall in love with her (without regard to gender or sexual orientation) and carry out her wishes and commands.

Notable Skills: Breaking and Entering, Law, Private investigating, Tactician, and manipulation. On a side note, she can out-drink almost everyone she’s met.

Personality: Siryn is strong in her own right and very self assured and independent. Her cousin, Tom, had no time for her (after all he was in and out of jail) so she grew up on her own, taught herself how to function with as little attention from others as was possible. She also learned how to use people to get what she wants. Her mutation helped her get whatever she wanted or needed. She plays mute with everyone, preferring to act invisible and gain knowledge than to be called upon. She is quick and sly, as her criminal heritage demanded. Despite being as viscous as her cousin she will easily bend to another's will if they can prove stronger than her, but she will fight them for their dominance. She puts on a mask when around people her own age. it’s the common Prep Party Girl one, and that is a true part of herself, its just guarded around all, but her friends.

History: While Sean Cassidy was working on a deep undercover mission for INTERPOL, his wife Maeve gave birth to their daughter, Theresa. Not much later, Maeve died in an IRA bombing. With no means to contact Sean, his cousin Tom took care of Theresa. When Sean returned to learn of his wife’s death, he was devastated. Before Tom could even tell him of the existence of his daughter, Sean lashed out at Tom with his sonic scream for not having taken better care of Maeve. While Sean flew away in anger, Tom fell into a chasm, breaking his leg as a result of the attack, which left him with a limp. Angrily, Tom swore to make Sean pay and vowed to never tell him about his daughter, raising her himself instead.
Tom (now known as Black Tom) would raise Theresa as his apprentice in his criminal activities. Eventually, Theresa accompanied Black Tom and his then-partner, the Juggernaut, to San Francisco to assist him in his crimes. Here, employing the name Siryn, she battled Spider-Woman and several of the X-Men. This conflict ended in Black Tom's temporary capture. While in custody, Black Tom exonerated Theresa of responsibility for her crimes and wrote a letter to Sean explaining who she was. The X-Men brought Theresa back to their headquarters, where she hopes to be reunited with her father.

Writing Sample: “Poor little Siryn, voiceless and powerless.” The blue-eyed teen looked up at Juggernaut and gave him the bird. If Tom was here the b*****d wouldn’t have said a word, but Tom was scoping out their latest hit. God, why can‘t he speak when I can tell him to shut up? She thought with a mental sigh. “You know, if a human virus can render you powerless, you must not be very powerful.” The huge man would have been on his back and through a few walls if Siryn could use her voice, but laryngitis was the epitome of evil and it seemed a sixteen-year-old Siryn was not immune to it. She just ignored the human wrecking ball and opened her make-up bag, taking out her Moulin Rouge Red lipstick and applying another layer to her already dark lips. She closed her case with an audible snap and glared up at Juggernaut and took a swig of her beer. Gods, when is Tom going to be back? “You know, if Tom finds out you’re an alcoholic,” Shut up! For the love of all that’s pure, just shut the ******** up! She wanted to scream at the man, but she couldn’t even croak, her voice was gone. Please Tom, she tried to develop telepathy suddenly. Please come back, now! And Tom answered her prayers, he came sauntering through the door with a smirk plastered on his face. “Hello all.” He gave a small wave, frowning at the beer in Siryn’s hands. She pointed at Juggernaut as if to say: Its not mine, its his! “It looks like we can pull this job off without even using Siryn’s admirable vocal talents. . .” Little did they know this would be their last heist together. Black Tom would end up in jail, Siryn would end up with the X-men, and Juggernaut would be gone.

CHARACTER GOALS: Hmm. . . A love interest is always good, but Siryn wants something more. She wants life to be as exciting as when she was with Black Tom, but she also wants the security the Mansion offers. She wants to get to know people better, form roots. She seeks some kind of stability in her life at the moment.
