Dear Journal…
First day of school was today. Wasn’t exactly one of those “feel good” experiences. I wore the WORST possible thing that I could’ve worn, got lost THREE times, had to take off my shoes because they were killing me and giving me blisters since I didn’t wear socks, had to put on my sweatshirt so nobody would see my dorky shirt, AND on top of all that, had to come home and eat lunch.
Today sucked a little bit. But I met some really cool people and I think I made a few friends. Biology is gonna be pretty fun and so is History and English. My English teacher sounds really cool. Same thing with History. I’m the only one home at the moment so it’s great to just chill seeing as today was only a half day. No school tomorrow, but after Wednesday, we have to start wearing our uniforms; blehck.
Anyways, Mom made me wear make-up today because she thought it was pictures; but I told her their not till the 5th of September!! And not even my eyeliner and the good kind of make-up; some gross gunk that the preps wear. Ew. But does she listen to me? Course not. When has she listened to me in the past? Why start now? Anyways, at least I got to wear black.
My…secret…was safe today. Everything was normal…WELL…as normal as it’s gonna get around here. Everything went pretty smoothly aside from the fact that I basically had to walk around campus bear-footed. That was sort of embarrassing. So was getting in the car with my grandmother who picked me up with her ENTIRE leisure group posse and dragged me around looking for this obscene arts and crafts thing that I had no idea existed.
We had to fill out about a thousand of those little index cards with our names and stuff on them. I think I have writers cramp just from today. My pen ran out of ink mid word and the teacher wouldn’t let me get another one. She just kinda shoved one into my hand and was like “HERE, DON’T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!!! BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!” …That one kinda scares me a little. My Math teacher wants me to get a binder, I don’t like binders; they fall apart easy.
Torey almost got detention today, even though it was the first day. Her skirt was really short, and the administration got really mad. They let her off though, with a “DON’T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!!!” We’re both already sick of their warnings.
I figured out that there are 3 bio labs, 4 computer labs, 2 math rooms, 2 theology rooms, and the rest I’ve yet to master. I have Spanish 2 with the seniors…I’m the only freshman. I’m scared. I wonder how the seniors do it…know where all of their classes are and still manage to give us directions to a broom closet when we’re stupid enough to ask for them. Torey helped me out a lot, and I thank her till the end of eternity; she owns my soul now.
Being a freshman is hard work. We have to deal with the seniors, the sophomores, and the juniors all at once. None of them like us. Except Torey, but she’s cool so she doesn’t count. Getting our asses kicked is something that’ll probably happen on a regular basis; especially during Spanish for me.
Adria has 3 classes with me; English period 1, Algebra 1 period 8, and Gym…I forget which period…maybe 3? Or was it 4…? I don’t remember. Abby doesn’t have any classes with us, which made me sad. But we’ll still see her at lunch. We don’t have any classes with Rachie either. Kris and I have study together in the fall.
Homeroom is always quiet and boring. Mrs. Pleasants is…quiet and boring too. I’m not really sure why she’s teaching at La Salle, much less teaching at all. She doesn’t seem like the teacher type; and if she does, she seems like the type of teacher who lets you get away with everything and doesn’t care if you do your homework or not. Like a substitute. I can see Mrs. Pleasants as a sub, but not as a real, salary paid teacher. Not at La Salle, the craziest school in the district.
I wonder how this year will play out. It ought to be…extremely interesting…
Sourly blistered and Insanely curious…
