Message: It was already quite dim in lighting when the weakly lit lights overhead suddenly flickered out and died. You paused, uneasy, before turning to leave, deciding to return when the area was bright once more.
"Leaving so soon...?"
Two arms reached out from behind, embracing you and pulling you back into the darkness. The man holding you laughed lightly, reaching up to place a finger gently over your lips before you could shout.
"None of that now... I don't mean you any harm..." He slowly removed his hand. He smelled like forest and spices...
His hand returned to your side, gently cradling your hips and holding you firmly against his warm chest before he brushed his lips up against the shell of your ear as he murmured, "I hope you can forgive my sudden appearance... It's a little too hard for me to travel in broad daylight..." he laughed quietly, "and it was much harder to keep myself away from you... I tried though..."
He sighed breathily... seeming content just to hold you before he reluctantly let go, turning you to face him. He reached up to cup your cheek tenderly and he tilted his head. His glowing blue eyes softened as he brushed his thumb up against your cheekbone, moving to tilt your chin upwards.
"...You're very beautiful you know..."
He smiled, almost sadly. He was holding something back...
"...I would give anything... to be able to take you with me..." He leaned in closer. Inches away from your lips, he paused. He sighed through his nose before turning your head, brushing his lips up against your cheek in a feathery light kiss.
He let go, stepping back.
"And yet I already forget myself..." He reached out to take your hand, bringing it up to his lips as he kissed the back. "Please forgive me..."
He turned your hand over, placing a small box in your grasp.
"And please... don't let me catch you again..."
And with those final words the lights flickered back to life, taking the man with it.
He was gone...
