I'm kind of depressed with what Gaia is turning into these days. Not only do newbies now start off with a ton of clothes, there's also this daily chance thing all over the place. That's not what Gaia used to be about. It used to be people coming together to talk, to share ideas, to have fun. Now it's all about owning things, or winning stuff, or playing the games on the site. And I really don't like that about Gaia now...

I'm going to have to think about whether or not I want to stay involved on this site. Even the few threads that I'm involved in have died... including both art-related jobs I'd signed up for over the summer. Gaia, what has happened to you? crying

Just a random hello to Gaia from me. biggrin I got a new haircut today, and I mean it in the literal sense, not in the avatar sense. blaugh It's really cute, and I'm quite pleased with it, which is nice because the haircut before this wasn't so nice. domokun

I've returned from the wilderness of Kentucky with a lot of fun memories and an awful cold. I've lost my voice and can barely talk without pain, and my nose will not stop running. gonk crying I hate being sick... *coughhackdie*

Is anyone else getting really angry at the Marketplace inflation rate? It's ridiculous! Since I've joined Gaia, I've seen angelic headbands rise 20,000 g! That's nuts! I'm getting really annoyed with it, since it's the most expensive piece to my dream avi, and I really don't know what I'm going to do when I'm trying to raise the 150,000 gold I'm going to eventually need to pay for it. *sigh*

Anyway... I'm going to call my boyfriend now, as it's his birthday. Yay for him. heart

My life is really hectic right now. I'm applying to be an RA for next year (for those of you not yet in college, resident assistant), and the last two steps of the application process are this week. *bites nails furiously* Also, the game development group I'm in is looking for some concept art for next week, and I'm unsure as to when I can get some of it done. I'm going to do my best to pop out one or two character conceptions tonight, but I'm going to make a guess that it may not happen (it depends on how many people show up at work...)

And I'm still waiting on one person's information for their avatar portraits. stressed Annoyance! I'm working on the other winners, but it's going slowly... crying

And yesterday I saw something on Gaia that really irritated me. Someone said that they wouldn't go to America anymore because of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki because Americans "destroyed the precious Japanese." Now, do not get me wrong. I'm a Japanese Studies Major, I love Japan and the culture and the people, but you shouldn't be boycotting a nation for something that happened 50 years ago. Don't come here because we're capitalistic pigs, because of the war in Iraq, because Bush is an idiot. Not because of a terrible thing we did 50 years ago. I'm not proud of the country, but Truman didn't drop the bomb because he hated the Japanese, and he wanted to destroy them. *sigh* I hate ignorance.

All right, I've gotta get to Japanese class... ninja Time for a vocab quiz! rolleyes

Well, I set up a free avatar art topic to get a basis for an art mini-shop I'm going to be setting up soon. I'll post some more information here, but that'll be later. Right now, I'm just happy to have some sort of income for Gaia other than just forum-whoring myself out. sweatdrop
