Being worked on
Hey, I'm not done with this one. I had to leave.

As I was filling out my "Interest Tags" I had to grumble about their "Interest tags must be alphanumeric, between 4 and 40 characters long and can't be all digits" rule. Then as I stared at it and filled out as much as I can when I had time I was stumped on the Favorite Movies/Anime part.

Flash Passes Update
Sorry but.... no more Flash Passes.....
Update....... kind of.

Here's what their webpage says:

An Xtreme Play Pass includes all of the benefits of a Play Pass plus FREE parking every visit, in-park discounts on food and merchandise, FREE Fright Fest maze access and a discount on the new 2009 electronic The Flash Pass. A limited number of Xtreme Play Passes are available — get yours today before they sell out!

Price - cut in (almost) half! It's now $125.00 for the Xtreme Pass.
Free parking... oh... yeah... that $15 gives you a large soda... I'm surprised they don't charge for the drinking fountains (over chlorinated).
In park discounts are okay.. free friend and discounts on friends tickets are cool except for they have certain dates to use them, and a free hurricane harbor is nifty too... need to put more though. Free maze... that's something new. Probably to "cool" those that are ticked about no more free flash passes... like me, but it's not working for me. I don't care for the mazes.
See what I'm ticked about? No more free flash passes, it's a "discount" now... yeah... I'll have to check what the "discount" is next time I go.... like a few pennies perhaps.

Magic Mountain... again.
Six Flags Magic Mountain.... Valencia, California.

I went on their webpage and found a map. My last journal entries I blabbed about:
X2... Viper.....Tatsu... Superman... Ninja...Revolution.... the tower....The water rides... Most of the carnie rides... Flashback.... Colossus... Batman... Riddler and Goliath.
In the last entries I forgot 3. Number one, The Tram! Woo..... an e-ticket.... during the summer... when walking up and down the hills of that park and from one side to the other in 100+ weather was hell. That needs to open again... the track is still there, the tram-cars are still around too. The track needs new paint, perhaps new parts, and oh, some trees need some serious clipping... for the prices that are, this shouldn't take much of the profits.
Scream.... this thing has it in for me seriously. 'Course, the first time was my fault... the second incident was my friends. Okay, the first time was definitely my stubbornness, and stupidity. I just got over a flu-hell, and went "hey, I'll just go and have some fun at Magic Mountain." Well, fast forward to that ride... after being on several other rides before. I didn't remember anything after the first drop, and "waking" when the car was pulling back into the station. The second time was with some friends. We went for lunch at the Moose Lodge, and I had the chicken strips - that come with fries - well, my friends turned into my grandparents and had me "clean my plate" which I knew better... I'm not used to so much fried things. Anyway, we went on that ride some hours later. The first round was fine, and with no one waiting, we went around again... which.... yeah... I feel sorry for the people waiting for that one car that was running to dry after the employees cleaning the seat and floor... and my friends who had to smell the regurgitated tenders and tots. The last time I went to that park I went on that ride and was fine, so I'm not afraid of it, I just know a few of my limits for that ride.
DejaVu I only went on once... the line isn't worth it every time I go or it's closed - for Terminator is next to it and being worked on. I went on it when it was brand new and one of my friends got her hair stuck in the seat. I can't say much for the ride since it was awhile ago and I haven't been on it enough to say much anyway. Cool idea on how it goes forward then backwards on the same track.
There's no way they'd let me on the kiddie rides, nor would I want to go on them. The new Terminator, the one that took over Cyclone's space which I thought was really unnecessary, because for the prices they're charging, they could have bought a big chunk of property next to them. Seriously, they could have almost gone all the way to where Little House on the Prairie was filmed! That coaster was the only one that I hated because the people who check the bars to make sure that they're down push a bit too much... I came home with bruises a few times... surprised not to be sent to the community hospital with broken ribs or other broken bones. I liked that ride because for a time, that was the only one that I got "air time" - before Goliath opened.
That's all for now.

As for the rides themselves...
Six Flags Magic Mountain.... Valencia, California.
X2... brilliant! The seats aren't so "deeply exciting" (actually the recording was "equally exciting" but deeply made more sense when the ride first opened) and more comfortable. The soundtrack is hilarious, way better than California Screamin' Roller Coaster or Space Mountain at Disneyland. I miss the paint-job on the car though, and how it changed from blues, pinks and yellows. When I went last time the innards were visible, so I think they're working on a cover. I bet the gas for those flame throwers is going along just nicely with the cost it takes to keep closing that ride down because it is sinking. Yes, S-I-N-K-I-N-G.... an old bog claim, but if you look at it, and some history of the area, the whole park is sitting on a riverbed... the same one that brought water from the St. Francis Dam disaster to a Ventura beach (concrete chunks could still be found along the river and on the beach).
As far as I know, Superman still has the dent in the center of his forehead, which I think is a myth, but still... the man of steel has a dent. Its a wonder why they keep slowing (so the car doesn't go so high) that down, which I think is another myth. How, I'm not sure, someone with a garden shovel or golf ball perhaps? It has to be hard enough to hit and make a impression. I've seen golf balls, tennis balls, ping-pong balls and the common coins go, which a lot of people loose on the way back down. The trick is not to "throw" the item, but just let it "float" off your hand, and hopefully grab it before you go backwards. I've tried coins, most I've lost, probably in the shrubbery below. The first time I went on it I swore I wouldn't go on it again. Well, about a year later I did. Quite liked it, except for the hair-tie gave out and my hair was a tangled mess. I would have gone on it again, but the 2 hour wait wasn't worth it. I go on it when the line is 1/2 hour or so.
Viper is still good classic metal loop/cork-screw, and like every coaster the back gets the thrill (via being pulled by the front of the car it gets more "kick" wink , the fronts the view (see where your going, not much "kick" if any), and middle is in between the two.
The one loop wonder... Revolution. My first real coaster. I was tricked onto this years ago, in that my mother's boyfriend (note: not married at the time) asked if I wanted to go on Revolution while we were standing by the fountain. Well I glanced over at the loop and he told me that was another coaster. I go on it and was just about to kill him when that "head back" sign told me something was up. I went on it again - a second time - after waiting in line about 15 minutes later.
Ninja needs to stop the operators from going "high-ya" seriously, stealth and silence is the key to being a Ninja... and "high-ya" is well... getting a bit old and I wonder if the employees there actually like to repeat it over and over again.
Tatsu... Fly at the Speed of.... what MM could afford for coasters... technically not the "speed of fear" as they claim. This ones fairly easy to scare your friends. Such as to wait in line and block view of coaster - so they don't see how the seats really are - and let them puzzle on why the thing has a over-head as well as across the ankle brace. The inverted loop is a blast and the pictures are hilarious - mostly the ones that aren't yours... then again, I got one that I look like I'm asking the dragon the old Brobdingnagian Bard question "do virgins taste better than those who are not?" and another that has an "gods save us" look with my arms out.
The tower has been closed for quite a while. I hear it's opened and changed into some sort of park museum with an old carousel horse and coaster blueprints. I'll have to go check it out sometime later.
Flashback.... correctly named... though no longer there. It was blue and white and basically went in a square over and over. Chiropractors must have loved this one... gave them more patients. I have mixed feelings about the loss of this old thing... glad to see the rusted parts gone and sad to see an old classic vanish.
Colossus is sticking around, perhaps because of its ability to go backwards and is the only double track in Southern California still in existence. Yes, it goes backwards, mostly around October when MM has their Fright Fest, which by the way they had a bright idea of putting headrests on the seats. This coaster reminds me of the racing one back at Knots around late 80's early 90's. Occasionally they do have 2 trains running on separate tracks and have races, yet that's usually when the park is packed.
Batman still running smoothly, though the fan in the tunnel rarely runs anymore. The "jumping man" on the wall where a city silhouette is, I think the park covered it up when they repainted that - which is obvious because the words aren't exactly covering the old "building a better tomorrow." Someone's bound to put him leaping off again eventually.
Riddler, the only stand-up coaster in So-Cal. Bicycle seats... so watch how you sit. I've been on this so many times I can sit where the thing is all the way down, and stand where it is all the way up (for my height, being on aside with a ledge to lift ye higher helps) and be fine through the ride. Usually the line is not worth it, yet people in there... sometimes amusing enough to make it worth the wait. I once heard some Harry Potter fans puzzle over if the Riddler was a Slytherin - because of the colors. Another time was a group of kids that probably made about $5 just by picking off the coins on the overhanging nets that protect those waiting in line.
Most of the carnie rides still exist. The carousel is still there, missing the couches, but still there. Last time I went the tilt-a-whirls were gone, yet they vanished before a couple of times years ago only to be moved to a different location. The little yellow coaster-thing that went in a circle is gone. The swings were closed for a while, to get a new coat of paint on, looks good in bright red. The pirate ship needs painting, yet is still working. Bumper cars are still there and still have a outrageous line. That orange and white elevator-like one by Riddler is gone too. The Scrambler is still around, though there is a rumor saying that will vanish eventually too.
The water rides like Jet Stream, Log Jammer, Roaring Rapids, and the one with the big boat and one drop (that people wait on a bridge to get soaked) are still there. I barely get a drop on me every time I go there, except on my butt because of the wet seats, and perhaps some soaked shoes because the boat is waterlogged.
I have some feeling that Goliath is slowing down - just because some idiot got on ignoring "if you have these don't get on dumb-butt" signs - and that one turn (that gets within feet of the old parking lot ground) that has some major (positive) G-force. In short positive G's push you into the seat, negative ones throw you out... and perhaps scare the hell out of you. For example, a airplane goes in loops. The loop when the pilot pulls up and does the loop is positive, when he/she/it does the opposite, it's a negative. I have to give that coaster a credit though, got me to drive my mothers Mercedes. *Looks through journal entries* I thought I did. So anyway, I told my parents I was going to Magic Mountain, my mother wanted to go because she had not been there since Batman first opened. She wanted to go on the newer rides, I told her that it wasn't such a bright idea, and to stick with Colossus, Viper, Batman... the older and "gentler" type. Well, we went on X - after 2 hours of waiting. That scared her. We went on Tatsu (with the paper flash passes) and she said that scared her but was something different, since she didn't think a coaster could get close to negative g's (which it does on an inverted loop that you can see by the Revolution's loop). We went on GoldRush after that, while searching for a place to eat, which still seems the had the typical no-line. I don't recall on what we had, but after waiting in line we went on Goliath. I'm quite used to the first drop - into the tunnel - yet it didn't seem like my mother was up to it. She claims she passed out, and could barely walk when the ride was over. I had to get a wheelchair and then practically carry her from the front gates onto the tram and to the car, which I got to drive home. That thing is a speeding ticket on wheels I tell ya. The accelerator is very sensitive as well as the brake. I was basically driving by my toes, not willing to put the whole foot on either petal... least I hit zero to gods only know in split seconds and the same going from that back to zero. Good thing the park is not that far from home.... a few hours.... not days.
Have fun visiting. Oh, and please don't bring small items like cell phones on coasters like Tatsu and X - those things hurt when they hit people on the ground, make a mess for park cleaners and cost you money to buy a new one since the park isn't liable for anything.

Sorry but.... no more Flash Passes
Okay, I buy the Magic Mountain (Six Flags) Season X-treame Pass for nearly $300 figuring I'll go at least 4 times this year and free-parking (normally for now is $15 per car) is good. Well, I also bought it because it included 4 flash passes. The last time I went - back in January-ish, I got the flash passes... 4 paper ticket things, that get me from a 3 hour line to 15 minutes to 1 hour line. I just went there and they scraped the paper and went digital. They now have pagers, like some Olive Garden restaurant, charging $250 if you loose/break them. Anyway, with my season pass I can't get them... they charge $40 for one person and add $20 for each additional person.
Well, I suppose my next trip there will have paid for the pass, but still.... I paid an extra $150 from the normal year-pass for the free parking (which doesn't have a "reserved" spaces like some other parks) and flash passes. It's just.... grrrrrrrrrrrrr...... scream xp

As far as the park goes, it's sad to see good coasters like Cyclone destroyed (yeah, it was getting a bit old and dirty, but still... there's plenty of property there around the park). Terminator now takes that chunk and a bit more where Cyclone was. Also, there's a few rides that have been repainted - finally - but their choice of colors is.... well... o.O what the hell? Seriously, the building for GoldRush went to a blue to a white... guess they wanted to show more dirt. GoldRush is still its gold-yellow by the way. However I do agree on X ("improved" to X2) from its blinding mustard-yellow and funky-purple to grey and the same funky-purple. Viper (as seen on EncinoMan) looks good with a new coat as with Revolution and a few other rides there.

I hear the prices are going to raise once again. I guess MM is still afraid of closing that location... like Valencia (So-Cal Sacramento-ish Summer-Hoter-than-Hot area) will allow it. rolleyes Well, there's always Knotts and Universal.... and Disney.... and places like Santa Monica.

So many updates... so little time.
Okay, title of entry it was on, a little bit of the entry... and the update.
blaugh Sucker.... Well, probably like many, I bought the Ancient Chest, which is "A glowing, rumbling chest. Do you dare open it?"
exclaim ...got another one of those chest from the clam in the aquarium. Sold it for 5K.
xd Good-bye Is Not Forever... My dad said that he'll not get another dog/pet.
exclaim Just got a cat about 1 day less than a year from the day my dog died. He's orange tabby, with a little white chin... *hums the meow mix song* A male from a airport called Porterville (Mid-California). My parents went there for lunch, because I was out with friends, and came back with it in a box. I was home when they returned, and figuring that they went to Costco, I wondered around the net till my dad said "help put away the groceries." One box sat on the counter, figuring it's milk and cheese, I open the lid-flaps and I think it scared me more than I scared it. Love at first sight. So cute! Still cute, even though it's doubled in size, and seemingly tripled its weight.... and clawed the hell out of me lately. Well, the people that owned the restaurant at the airport were feeding/keeping feral cats and he was one of them. They called him "Rusty" and that name stayed with him here. My mother said that he's going to get clipped so he doesn't spray and stink up the furniture, yet he'll keep his claws... in the experience of our last cat might have survived if we didn't declaw her.
xp Just another roll of the dice...That is, even though my computer tends to randomly restart when ever it darn well pleases.
exclaim Hasn't randomly restart/shut-down lately, but I still think I got a lemon. It's gone through a few more crashes where I had to put everything back on, and it's slower than molasses at times... yet so far, not much random acts of ticking me off. However, it still refuses to set the time and date right... I have to do that manually every time I log in... or it will think it's January 1, 2001 at midnight-something... then if I want to go online it will pop up stuff for certifications, etc. because the date is a little different or something like that. However, I think it has something to do with turning the power supply off every time after I turn the computer off. I do it because the power thing has this really bright green light, that I can't stand having it on... the computer is in my room, and at bedtime I like it as dark as possible. I have gotten use to the dim glow from the outside lights through my window, and a car passing in the street, yet that darn green light bug the heck out of me. I think I'll have to ask dad for some electrical tape or something to cover that darn light.
eek Just Stuff 3... Cheveron in Camarillo, by what was the United Artist - now for supposively another year, an empty building: $2.30
exclaim Gas went down to about $1.60... and stayed there for quite some time. Now it's going back up... $2.05 so far at most places. The empty old United Artist is now a Roxy, and fairly nice stadium-seating theater with an Egyptian theme... Still prefer the Edwards, Regal or AMC... or Citywalk for that matter.
rofl Just Stuff... 11.... but it's better than messing with some company and their no-spekie-engloso employees and the relentless "please hold your call is NOT IN THE LEAST IMPORTANT to us.... your call will be answered.... NEVER IN YOUR LIFE OR AFTER LIFE" junk. Grrrrrrrrrr........
exclaim Sounds like my insurance company now. I loved Blue Cross of Oregon, sad to say my company switched to CIGNA, where instead of some nice English Speaking fellow or lady I get "would you like fries with that taco" type of Asian/Latino/Iranian-something or other. Loved BCO in that and how quick they are in replying or sending stuff you need... like new cards because the old ones went through a paper shredder by mistake. They were also quick in answering their phones and didn't have a maze of automated-voice-message-systems. Loved them... even more so than BC of California, which seemed to have nothing but Latino... no Englishie understando.
ninja In The Past - This Year: So Far (2004 - RL)... October of this year - Not much happened so far.
exclaim Not much has happened since then to note... currious? Read my journal, and posts.
confused In The Past - This Year: So Far (2004 - RL)... July 14 of this year - I meet Singapore, seems friendly.
exclaim Our little group has grown a bit. In Gaia, there is now me... Nikiki... Lauire, Le Mer, Folkor, Singapore, Crocus, CelticDraco and our newest member, LegionSage.

lol Character's Author Note - How Nikiki came to be 1.... I am currently working on a book about her travels in these games - like many other of my stories, probably will not be done for another 5 years.
exclaim Yep, never finished and my computer crashed - deleting that - never re-done it.

Black Hole Ahead
I once saw a freeway construction-lighted-sign that said "prepare to be annoyed" and that's just how I feel now. Lets start off with something simple... like the title of this little rant.... well, a few rants, actually. burning_eyes
The one that doesn't suck so bad.... ye, another song... that I can't get out of me head. Among a variety of others. gonk This one, at least one line of it, seems to repeat more often lately, since all there is on the news is Tuesdays "big event." rolleyes I can't help add a quote from a friend: "here comes another 1920's depression." stressed I talked to my great-grandmother, who lived through it and she said this one's not as bad. I think, that there's a black hole out there and things are about to sink... they haven't hit rock-bottom yet... though I've just about scratched the bottom of my bank account... actually, I killed it a couple of times, which a credit account saved my butt in adding a few $$$ into the bank... then they charged $40 transaction fee plus another $10 for over-drafts... that's just for one time. xp
California, seriously, fix your roads! Forget the big yachts and corporate jets, Hummers (which seriously need to get off main roads, street legal my foot). Fix the darn roads. I've gone out of California and it seems once you cross the border of say, California and Oregon... Holy cow... bumpty-bump-bump goes completely silent. Smooth.... quiet... and very rarely is there a pot-hole or something to flatten a tire. A little warning for you going across that border, it's illegal to fill your own gas-tank... I'm not sure of the punishment, yet I think it's a fine or something like that. California, I've found very few full service places that still exist... mainly down in L.A. and other enormous cities. California I think, has gone to this tax-return "IOU" delie because they pay way too much for so little... like the learjets... take the Amtrack or Metrolink, lot cheaper and well... cheaper. Go for a drive... cheaper and lots more to look at, stop at, etc. mad
I call out to all people... pay your servers (restaurants, etc) well... most just barely make over minimum wage, and live off of tips. I was one... some 5 years ago, and got no tips because it wasn't required at the retirement center I worked for... deal with gripie grand-farts, their indecisions on what they want for dinner, run back and forth with "it's too cold/hot take it back" complaints, and get paid just enough for a dollar menu item, gas for my car to drive to work and back, that is, after taxes take their chunk. Now, I work for slightly more, at a daycare, not enough... obviously.... even if they paid $30 an hour, it wouldn't be enough... I'd say $100 would be worth living day to day going to work with the brats! Yes, b-r-a-t-s... screaming, runny nose, crying for no reason, most don't speak/understand a word of English (Spanish origin, etc) and for California, there's a "no discipline" law out there... no time out, no spanking... nothing that I grew up with.
So, kids ruling over adults, bad tips, CEO-and-up paychecks... Yep, another addition to the power for the black hole. sweatdrop

House
xd I'd take me all eternity to thank everyone for voting and commenting on my house, so I mind as well do it here, in the little hope/instance that one (or so) will see a THANK YOU here in my journal.
blaugh It says I can't tell what my number is until the voting is over....... I think I can tell ye, its in 1-30 range now.

Sucker
redface Well, probably like many, I bought the Ancient Chest, which is "A glowing, rumbling chest. Do you dare open it?"
gonk The 20K I spent went down to 14g... if that...
mad The glowing, rumbling chest is rumbling because it's a gimmic.... 20K chest changes to a 100g Pineapple Hat: "Literally, a pineapple cut in half, hollowed out, and put on top of your head. So artistic!"
