I haven't written in here in so long, ahah. I apologize! So much has been going on, but I seem to have forgotten how into poetry I was a few years previous. I'd like to share one I have written and gained awards from roughly around the time I started writing a few years back. It shows my love and fascination of Wolves to this day. It's a bit rough on the edges, but remind you I wrote it during the middle school time period. This poem upsets me quite a lot, actually. Reasons because I spent roughly around 10 minutes writing it compared to the poem I spent days on that I entered as well. Funny how that works! Anyways, here it is ~
The Dream
Out of the abyss of darkness, comes a radiant wolf. It shakes each and every strand of fur, and off comes the blanketed snow and tiny shards of ice.
It looks into the sky, as if searching for unfamiliar faces. Mourning the saddest tone of howl, it cries out into dawn. Lonely, just like mother once was.
Satin ribbons draped around its body, shifting into its collage of fur. Soft whistles of the wind and snow gently blow around the mighty wolf, uncovering its true angelic beauty.
As it trudges back into the thicket, it looks back with its liquid turquoise eyes. Tilting its head, it soon elegantly walks toward me, suddenly vanishing into the funnel of snow.
Twisting memories turn into a poetic dream, My dream.
