	she was excited about starting a new adventure. her life had--well, let's face it--become sort of boring, with the same routine every day. and now she had met corky and they were starting something new. sure, it might be a little scary at times, but she was happy to be with someone who shared her spirit of adventure. and what's the worst that could happen?

	"this coin." he said. "it's not from around here. It appears to be from albania." "albania!" she exclaimed, "what would a coin like that be doing here?" "I really can't imagine" he said "but I am going to find out. Let's go!" he grabbed her arm and they ran down the alley toward a half-open door about fifty yards away.

	corky knelt down and looked intently at the ground, then looked around. "whoever was here can't have gone very far." he brushed his hair back and pulled a small knife out of his pocket which he used to dig at the ground. "see--" he held up a small coin "--I think I know what they were after. and if it's what I think it is we could be on to something." "gosh, corky" said lisa "what are you talking about?"

	"gosh, corky, " blurted lisa, "do you really think we should be here? I don't think we belong here at all. and I'm not sure how we got here in the first place." corky looked up with a vacant stare. "you're right," he said, "how did we get here? this is beginning to get spooky."

	corky stared at the ground, appearing to search intently for something. "do you see something?" asked lisa. He didn't answer immediately but bent down and retrieved a broken twig. "this indicates that someone has been by here recently" he said.

	lisa froze as if in a dream. transported momentarily to a place so reminiscent of this awful house, she imagined the sights and smells of something foreign. a...what was it? the trees rustled and a shaft of light shot through to the forest floor. something scurried past the distant oak and just as quickly vanished. what country was this?
