Kayren's inner thinkings
My thoughts. My beliefs. My stories. My life. Me.
Crazy Old Lady Narrative
Narritive Writing
By Kayren Turner, period 5

I have a story to tell you my darlings, a lesson to teach you. This lesson is one worth learning. Maybe, by listening to my tale, you can avoid ending up where I am. This story of mine starts out with me telling you exactly how it is that I came to be here and, at the end, I may just tell you what the lesson to be learned was.

Now then, I was once young and spry like you, believe it or not, and this tale begins just as that period of my life ends. I was around the age of forty-eight and I was running low on the money my father had left me after he died. Because of this, I was looking for a job. I quickly came across the perfect one; it was at a company called WASL, they graded all of the state tests that were sent in from the schools. I was to be one of their graders, earning a decent wage and doing something that added no extra stress to my home life.

After only a year, I became head of the company. I changed things around there, even though no one knew that it had been happening. It wasn’t as if I were doing anything bad; truly, I wasn’t; I was just being a good citizen. I probably shouldn’t have done it, shouldn’t have helped them. I should have just left them to ruin themselves, but I didn’t. All I had done was to look into the history of the children whose papers I graded and “fix” their scores accordingly…

I have spent two years in prison for nothing more than keeping those who misbehaved where they belonged, in the lower classes and schools! They would have never succeeded in life anyway, so, what did it matter? But, that’s what I get for trying to help society, it will never be safe from those who wrong it and apparently I was just not the right person to try and fix things.

What was the lesson in this you ask? Well, it was to teach you to never try to interfere for “the greater good” because it will always turn out wrong for you. Society won’t let it turn out “right” because there is no such thing in a real society. Everyone has their own opinions about it so it can never really be “right”, it will always be wrong and you will always be the one getting punished. So, take my advice and don’t even try.
