It's been 12 years since I last logged in. The website is broken, the guilds I loved abandoned, the games never updated from Flash. I'm sad to see a place where I spent nearly all of my free time so dead but, then again, I think I'd have been sadder if Gaia had turned into a modern social media website. Like this, it's a relic of a previous generation of the Internet, where anonymity and community could go hand in hand in a way that modern internet has no more place for. Where you could shout into the void like I'm doing now, knowing that it was very likely no one but yourself would ever see or hear it.

I'm in my late twenties. When I was last active I was in high school. I miss that time. So few worries and responsibilities, even if I didn't realize it. I get it now, why people say that high school can be the best time of your life. Why you're told not to waste your younger years. I wish I'd listened to them then.

Man, this really became a downer of a post, didn't it? But what does it matter. I'm just yelling into the void. No one will ever read this. And I think I prefer it that way.
