"The only way we can explain it is if we show you." The elder began. "If you accept this mission, everything will become more clear as you move forward."
Then the younger man cut in. "Forgive us, I must of forgotten to introduce ourselves." He said with a warm smile. "I am Kuan-Yin and this is my father, Choux-Yin." He added. Kaun-Yin then bowed gracefully in greeting.
Amelia looked at the two as if they were nuts. "Okay... what ever you say..." She said and then held out her hand for them to shake. "I'm Amelia, as you seem to already know this much." She exclaimed.
Kaun-Yin and Choux-Yin looked at her hand then at each other as if confused and then shrugged the thought away. Amelia sighed and put her hand down.
"You two are strange..." She added.
"At any rate, I will have to talk to my boss and see what he says. If you will excuse me, I'll return in a few minutes." She said then promptly left her office.
"Do you think she'll go, father?" Kaun-yin asked while they waited for Amelia to return. His father sighed and looked up at his son.
"I hope so... Our lives depend on it. Hopefully the Xaio Xian Empire has not already found the legendary Juju stone. If they have, then we are already doomed." Choux-Yin replied. After he spoke, the door opened and in stepped Amelia. They both turned to look at her with anticipation.
"Well?" Kaun-yin asked.
"It's okay for me to go." She responded. As she did, Amelia picked up her car keys. "Do I need to meet you anywhere? Or do you want to follow me to my house?" She asked them.
Choux-Yin gave Amelia a toothly grin as he responded to her. "We will follow you to your house, that is if you don't mind twenty limousines parked up and down your driveway." He said with a chuckle.
Amelia stared at him with a quirked brow, unsure if he was being serious or not.
"Well if you really have to have that many limousines I guess it would be interesting to see or hear the gossip that goes on after I return." She said with a light chuckle. She then turned to face the door to her office. "Well come on if you are going." She told them and then walked out of her office. The moment she stepped out of her office, her friend Chris came running up to her.
"Amelia!" He called out waving his arm to catch her attention. "Wait up!" he added, making sure she heard him that time.
When Amelia heard his voice she stopped in her tracks and turned to face him. "What's up Chris?" She asked.
"I just heard the news from the boss man... is it true that you are going to China with these people?" He asked breathlessly for he had ran from the other side of the building to get to her in time.
"Y-yeah it is true. I figured its not every day you get to go to China, ya know what I mean?" She asked.
Chris nodded. "Yeah I do know what you mean... But still... I hope you know what you are getting yourself into." He said with worry in his voice.
Amelia smiled warmly as he said that. "Well, You know.... I am comming back in a month or so." She said happily.
Chris sighed and kicked the air with frustration. "Well good luck then! I'll be here waiting for your return." He said. "But before you go... there's something I want to ask you." He added as he looked deep into her eyes.
"Um... sure?" She asked unsure of what he was going to say or do next.
He then stuffed his hand in his pocket and pulled out a small box. As he did, Chris looked at Amelia with a solemn expression.
"Take this... when you have some time alone... open it." He said softly.
Amelia took the box from Chris and examined it for a brief moment. She sighed then placed the box in her pocketbook. As she did, Chris leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. After they bid their fare wells, Amelia left with all of her followers behind her.
