I went insane every day
to keep from hurting the ones i loved
i hurt me instead of them
they said i was selfish
i took their punishment
they said i was ugly
i hid my face from the world
they said i was weak
i surrendered
my white flag held high
i walked into the battlefield
wading right into the bloody pool
in order to place my hand on the big black book
to watch the knives zig zag between my aching fingers
insanity
