Abilities
General
Spirit Energy - Yusuke has great control over his abnormal energy known as spirit energy. Able to tap into this "ki" of his body, he can do many wonderous things, such as use it to enhance his body's physical attributes, meaning greater strength and speed. When given more control and focus, he can use his spirit energy in more creative ways. For example, when he punches, he can let the spirit energy concentrated into the fist send out a burst of force that would precede his fist before it would make it, allowing for possibly surprising opponents with an early strike. Or, to battle against other attacks in a defensive way, he could also let his spirit energy form around him in a spherical shape to ward off attacks and opponents. Though when he uses it like an overall shield, he can't attack until he stops using the technique. If he wants to move around and still protect himself, he would either use his Spirit Wave technique to give him a temporary defense or power one part of his body with concentrated spirit energy. With this specific shield, he can block attacks and still attack. Blades won't even cut through as long as the energy keeps active. Naturally, his spirit energy gives his body a much harder resistance to attacks. He has many other creative ways of utilizing this power, but knows that he must be careful in making sure he does not expire his energy all at once.
Demon Energy - A trait that he has gained from his demonic side. Born a half demon, he has access to the more destructive energy, demon energy. Unlike spirit energy, demon energy is more wild and untamed, capable of destroying living things just by touching them, yet Yusuke's energy hardly holds this deadly property against living things. At equal power, however, spirit energy would overcome demon energy. Now, the thing about Yusuke is that he cannot use both spirit energy and demon energy at full power all at once. In other words, he has to keep a balance of which energy he would use. For example, if he wants to use 70% of his demon energy, then he would only have access to 30% of his spirit energy. Whenever his demon energy is being used at 80% or more, that is when his demonic marks will appear over his body.
When in demon form, as this is then called, his attributes far exceed a human's. His reflexes can keep up with lightning-fast attacks, even though this trait shows itself at a fair intensity when not in demon form, his strength is greater than before, and his speed only results from this enhancement. Not to mention, he has the ability to fly now, while as a human, he has to use great amounts of spirit energy to even keep flight as easily as a demon does, so he's more acrobatic in air when in demon form.
There is another form of this trait, but he has only released it once and does not know how to return to it again: it was when Raizen had taken over his body, entering him into True Demon form, ascended demon. As for now, he has no idea how to enter this form.
~Supreme Energy - This is a transcended source of energy that is a result of Yusuke using both his spirit energy and demon energy in perfect sync. It is when his mind, body, and spirit is in complete focus, usually caused by him having a strong justification for something he truly believes in. And when this occurs, for the brief moment that he has possession of this power, his attributes, both spiritually and physically become tremendous. However, after it expires, for it does quickly, Yusuke will become worn out, likely fainting. This power is something Yusuke wishes to come to master one day.
Electricity Resistance
Due to his constant encounter with electricity through his life as a detective and his life here against fights who used the element on Gaia, his demon body has adapted to the pain and nature of the element to where it feels only like prickles against his skin. Though he is capable of still taking damage from this element, none of it would be able to penetrate into his body, getting rid of the negative effects if electricity attacks, along with decreased effect.
Trademark Techniques
Spirit Gun - Yusuke aims his right index finger forward and focuses his spirit energy into the tip of that finger. While doing this, his left hand cups around his wrist to stabilize his arm, as if he was holding a real gun. He then mentally "fires," causing a projectile made of spirit energy to be fired forward from the tip, the size proportional to how much energy Yusuke had fueled it with.The projectile itself is fast, capable of moving at one hundred miles per hour at max. Upon contact, it would either carry a target who cannot hold against it, such as an aerial target, or explode on contact if the target is too dense to be moved. When carrying a target, the projectile is slowly doing burn-like damage to the person until it disperses into nothing. He can do the reverse version of this attack, which is him shooting with his left hand instead of his right, but since he's more right-handed orientated, shots from his left are less accurate, even though large shots increase the chance of hitting someone with their wide range. He can make his spirit gun nearly invisible by shooting a weak thin version of it. In this state, it can be shot instantly, making it rather fast. It can cause a bruise against skin on contact, and even knock over up to 20 lbs. It can knock over a person, too, but it has to be able to knock them off balance, assuming they don't catch themselves in time.
Shotgun - Yusuke gathers a good amount of spirit energy into his right fist before punching forward. A burst of spirit energy would erupt from this fist, spraying out smaller versions of the spirit gun. Although weak, this attack covers a wide range. He can perform the same attack with his left hand.
Spirit Wave - Yusuke takes a stable stance with his feet spread and arms in a relaxed but bent state as he has his left side angling toward his target, with the lead foot being the left foot. Spirit energy would then outline his body in a white glow as he focuses it into him, as if his entire body was a finger being used for a Spirit Gun attack. Once ready, in this temporal state, Yusuke's defensive capabilites are enhanced, able to withstand many attacks against him without taking much damage. This is really effective against magical attacks. And then, when he finds it time, he would use a single punch or kick to deliver all that gathered power into one attack, capable of giving whoever he strikes a massive blow. This attack leaves Yusuke spiritually and physically exhausted after using it.
Double Barrel Shotgun - A more advanced Shotgun. Instead of using one fist, Yusuke uses both fists to deliver a volley of spirit projectiles, which are more powerful and more widespread. However, it's twice as much costly on his spirit energy.
Demon Gun - Similar to the Spirit Gun, only this projectile is made of demon energy. Unlike the Spirit Gun which has to have a condition to explode, the Demon Gun explodes on contact with anything that tries to resist it. It usually will tear through obstacles, which may be an actual living being, but then again, if that being does not resist it anyway, then they would be assaulted by the attack regardless.
A special thing that Yusuke can do is mix spirit energy and demon energy into his shots to create a very unique projectile, in that its has two properties that would give it more of an opposition against defences created for attacks. However, there is a more controlled version of this in the following ability, Spiral Gun.
Spiral Gun - Yusuke points both index fingers forward. He then focuses spirit energy into his right index finger, while focusing demon energy into his left one. He then fires a Spirit Gun from his right finger and a Demon Gun from his left. Both will then spiral around one another toward the enemy as they combine into one, creating a very strong projectile with a piercing power reinforced by the focused power of spirit energy, combined with the destructive capabilites of demon energy.
Spirit Gloves - Both fists are engulfed by an active power of energy, be it Spirit Energy, Demon Energy, or Supreme Energy. This ability is shown active by the radiating energy appearing nearly as a sphere around each fist. While active, it gives Yusuke's fists exceptional physical power, yet drains his energy supply while kept in use.
Spirit Rifle - After training with a former captain-level soul reaper known as Kisuke Urahara, Yusuke has been able to develop what is known as the Spirit Rifle. It works like the Spirit Gun, only instead of being channeled through the finger, it's channeled through an entire arm, Yusuke places his opposite arm's hand onto the bicep if he wishes to aim, letting the energy charge up. It makes it seem like the Spirit Wave, too, but it only restricts the attack to one part of the body. Powering that single limb, Yusuke releases a missile of spirit energy that has much more penetration power than explosive power from the arm. Not to mention, it's much faster than his spirit gun. Deflecting it in another direction is out of the question, as it would only just explode from there, unless its defender finds a way to smoothly"curve" it in another direction. It gives a big recoil to his arm, however, a jerk that stresses his arm's muscles. Usually after four of these, the arm becomes fatigued.
