My journal, my book, my adventures.
I've been disconnected from my true past, I've had two people pose to be my father and I've been trying to find out my true family. I'm out to find my real past, get my brother back, and try not to make everyone else hate me. This is my journal.
The Goodbye of a Warrior
“No…. No… Choco… Please!” Lorian raced through the trees, her legs moving as fast as they could. Another job had gone bad, only this time Choco had decided to take the fall for her, “Please… Be okay!” She whimpered as she ran.

Her clothes were torn and bloodied, and her green and black hair was tired back into a bun, which was loosening from her hair, strands falling loose. He needed to be okay…. If he wasn’t- it would all be her fault. She raced faster through the woods, ignoring her bleeding side and arm. She raced past dead trees, their branches snagging and tearing at her clothes and flesh. She just swatted them away, following the trail of stirred up leave and dirt. They dragged him off, and he put up a fight.

As she ran, she could feel heart beating n her chest. All noise was blocked out and her mind was abustle with adrenaline and worry. Suddenly, all sound stopped and she heard a soft voice. It was humming the sweetest lullaby a child could ever hear. She could hear the feminine voice. She could hear her mother.

“Remember this tune, child. When your mind sees nothing but darkness, and your heart knows not which way to turn; remember this lullaby. It will guide you in the darkest of times.”

“But… Mama.”

“Hush child… It’ll all be okay.”

She could hear the song. She could hear the tune. Lorian began to run faster. Nothing could stop her now, not even the largest army in the world. His life depended on it.

Choco wheezed, the blade stuck him in the gut,

“You dirty spy. Your attempts are in vein. Now tell us where she is…. The girl… The maid.”

He wheezed, blood oozing from his nose and mouth. He pulled the blade from his abdominal and shook his head, throwing it into the leaves. The ancient, crumbling stone walls. They encircled him with only one exit, and his keeper was guarding it.

He coughed slightly, sealing his lips. He shook his head, falling on his knees. His breathing quickened as he stared up at the starry nigh sky through the dead branches. The sky seemed clearer, like a fog had been lifted.

Lorian approached the Maze of stone walls at full speed. She weaved through the maze, occasionally turning back to go a different path. She was ready to turn back, when she saw the door.

She paused for a moment, merely staring at the doorway. She could hear him; she could hear Choco.

She pushed off of the worn stone wall and rocketed through the door, only pausing again, “Don’t you lay another finger on him! You ******** a*****e!”

Impulse seized her, she took the dagger strapped to her boot and flung it at the man, her aim never failing- it stuck in the back of his neck. His Brainstem.

“Choco…. Please… Oh god…. No.”

She couldn’t even her herself think. She couldn’t hear herself talk. All she could think of, all she could remember, all she could hear was the soothing sound of her mother humming that tender, calming lullaby.

Lorian bolted over to Choco, falling to her knees before him. Her hands instinctively rested on his shoulders as moonlit tears began to pool at the rims of her stormy green eyes, “No… No… Choco, You’re going to be all right!” Blood was covering her now. Hers and his both, she was soaked in it. It smeared over her arms and hands, smudging her face, clinging to her hair, “Choco…. Please don’t die…. Don’t die… You can’t….”

“M’s… Lorian…. I…”

Lorian shook her head violently, holding back the sobs, “Don’t say it Choco…. Don’t say it… Please… Don’t say it…” She whispered, the tune springing to her lips just as quickly as it had sprung to her mind. She wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her head on his shoulder; she began to hum to him.

An hour had already passed, but it had felt like only minutes. She was kneeling there, wrapped around a bleeding man, humming. She didn’t realize that he had grown pale in the luminescent moon.

Choco was dead, and she was covered in his blood.

She heard something behind her, passing it off for nothing but a stray squirrel, or raccoon, until she felt broad arms wrap around her midriff. He pulled her away from Choco, and immediately her eyes flew wide, “No!! Don’t take him from me! Don’t take him!” Tears began to fall a second time, as the soldier holding her by her abdomen backed away from Choco’s limp form. She bent over his arms, one of her own extending out, “Please! Don’t take him! Don’t…. I’m begging you! Don’t take him!”

As they disappeared behind a corner, she turned in his grasp, looking from behind the man screaming. Even as pleas, and wails escaped her lips she couldn’t hear any of it. She couldn’t hear her words; she couldn’t hear her thoughts; she couldn’t hear her heart. All she could hear was the soft, soothing humming of her mother.

Her heart thumped wildly in her chest as her voice grew hoarse from the wails, and cries. She gave up, relaxing onto the soldier’s shoulder and weeping into his collar. When they backed away from Choco, his form had completely gone limp and fallen back. She couldn’t help him. She didn’t help him. He had taken her bullet, and he’d suffered for it. Choco was dead, when she should be.

Lorian relaxed into the stranger’s arms as they exited the labyrinth. She could hear the talking of the other militants, but shoved it off. She just wanted to hear the lullaby again. She just wanted to hear the song.

“Remember this tune, child. When your mind sees nothing but darkness, and your heart knows not which way to turn; remember this lullaby. It will guide you in the darkest of times.”

“But… Mama.”

“Hush child… It’ll all be okay.”

“Okay, Mama.”
