My stories, words, thoughts, and conflicts
Did you read that? lol
I had created this during a forum Role Play some time ago. I intended to finish it...but never actually had done so...

Igin Morsair, a young man in his early twenties walks slowly up a winding staircase to what looks to be his home. He face is worn from the days work, his clothes tattered and bloody. Igin stands roughly at average height, perhaps a bit more. His holstered gun at his side, and his sword slung limply across his back.

He comes to a stop at an old wooden door at the top of the steps. Igin places his hand near the knob, but slightly above it. There is a small click, then a slight grinding of gears before the door opens. As he enters, he closes the door behind him, a soft sound of a lock re-engaging as it shuts firmly. Igin removes his sword and places it upon an aged desk, then removed his holster and places it beside the sword. Beside the weapons lies a folder marked, "Target Name: Joe Blumi". It is a mercenary's folder, one usually obtained by the mercenary from his employer. He tosses the folder into the trash, then proceeds to finish the day. He takes off his tattered clothing, tossing it aside he pulls a pair of broken glasses from his pocket.

Igin proceeds to take a long hot shower, perhaps to ease the stress upon himself, or to reflect on the days events. When he exits he is fully dressed in clean clothing, his brown hair wet and matted. He rests himself upon the bed in the middle of the room, and reaches over to the nightstand beside it. Igin takes a pair of unbroken glasses and places them across the bridge of his nose. He then takes a book off the nightstand and begins to read, all the while aware of any sounds that may alert him to any danger nearby.

He slowly drifted off to sleep where he lay, the book fallen upon his chest, his glasses narrowly falling whenever he breathed deeply as he slept. He dreamed of the occurrences in the days mission, how it all went according to plan until a slight mistake nearly caused him to fail his mission. He was to exterminate the man Joe Blumi, Mayor Blumi's son. In fact, it was the Mayor himself who had ordered his own son's demise. You see, Joe was not of a kind sort, infact, he seemed to be just the opposite. He had killed men to keep secrets out of the public eye for the past two years. All having to do with the energy coil malfunction within the spaceport, causing tens of thousands of deaths in it's wake. Igin was ordered to assassinate Joe Blumi for he was not only dangerous to the public, but to his father as well.

Igin proceeded as he normally has done in the past, assemble his equipment, and decide a suitable location in which he was to spy for the time being. He spied on Mr. Blumi for three days, on the fourth he was ready to strike. He found out that Mr. Blumi had recently been using an old warehouse for a "headquarters" in which he was planning his next "Spectacular event" in Mr. Blumi's own words.

He posed to strike, for Joe did not have many guards on watch at the time. He approached cautiously, slowly getting nearer and nearer to the target. Though as gruesome as his job may be, Igin was not to pleased to take the lives of anyone he could possibly get away with not killing. But as he approached his sword had caught the edge of a large metal rack. And as he moved forward he had pulled a large metal pipe off of the shelves, causing a commotion that alerted all to his presence. Igin quickly drew his gun and his blade just as the guards and Mr. Blumi approached him. Shortly thereafter Igin left the scene, his clothes tattered and bloody, himself exhausted but otherwise he was completely unhurt.

Igin awakes abruptly at the pounding of his door. He leaps out of bed, grabs his gun and slowly approaches the door. As it bursts open, Igin points his gun at the uniformed man and pulls the trigger. "s**t! I knew he wasn't be trusted! As soon as I killed his son he sent word out for me to be next. That son of a..." He breaks off as shots are fired through his door. He slings his sword over his shoulder, and clasps it. He grabs his jacket and runs to the restroom and closes the door. He moves aside the mat and beneath it lay a trap door, with barely enough room for Igin to slide through. As he enters, he cracks the door open and whistles. A small creature runs out from beneath the bed, and leaps into Igin's pocket. Igin then pulls the pin off of a grenade and throws it through the door and shuts it. Before dropping down he says, "See ya suckers!" He drops down and shuts the door behind him.

He stands in what looks to be a makeshift underground path leading north. Igin travels along it, ignoring the large explosion overhead. He reaches the end of the path, and finds himself right outside the city walls, facing the Northern Forests. "Once I make it the tree line, I'll be home free, well in a matter of speaking." He says to himself as he rushes up to the forest.

Igin reaches the forest at a quickened pace. With a quick glance behind him, he enters the dark forest. Fairly quickly his image is lost within the dark inter-twined branches of the Northern forest. He feels he is safe and slows down his pace to a walk. "Hmm...where to now, seein as that double-crosser ratted me out."

Igin moves about the forest, looking for things to burn. Though it goes against his better instincts, making a fire would give out his location, but it would scare away the cold of the night. He uses a bullet as an ignition, and his sword to strike his gun to create a spark. In a relatively short time, the fire was burning brightly, and the smoke bellowing heavily. He sits against a tree, his gun at the ready, his blade still slung over his shoulder.

His eyes bein to feel heavy, it's been an eventful day, and he hasn't had the time to become properly rested. As he drifted off to sleep, the fire began to flicker and dissipate. Igin trys to awaken himself, for he realizes it is not a normal sleep, but that of a magical source. He places the butt of his gun near his arm and strikes it hard. He awakens completely to the pain in his arm, but he ignores it and rises to his feet, gun at hand and pointed towards the darkness. "Come out and face me!" Igin shouts as he peers into the uncertain darkness.

Slowly a dark figure appears from the shadows, his body cloaked in a black robe. "You need not know who I am, only that your life belongs to me." The figure says threateningly. "Is that so? My life belongs to me, and me alone. If you intend to take it, I intend to defend it." Igin says as he slowly applies pressure to the trigger. "It is pointless, I can not die, for I am death itself. You were not intended to survive you last mission, but as usual you evaded my grasp. I have come to take your life first hand, and your gun can not save you from this opponent." The figure hisses at Igin.

"Is that so?" Igin snaps at the figure. "And I suspect you are the being whom is known as death? Come to finish what had not been completed in so long, the people I've killed, and the people I've saved make no difference eh? I'm still just a pawn in your little game." The figure stands in silence for a moment, then begins to laugh deeply. "Put that gun away, it is not needed. I see now why you have avoided me for so long, you've still got things to do do you not? Hmm...indeed...I will not take your life, from this point forward, you have my consent to remain in this world until you have completed what you need to do. There aren't many whom I would give this consent to, but I like you. But once you have finished your mission, I will come and claim what is rightfully mine, do you understand me?" Death speaks calmly towards Igin. "I understand, but you must understand I will not sit back and allow myself to be taken, no matter when it is." "Yes, I do, but that is the reason I give you your prolonged existence, not many would stare death right in the face, lesser few who would point a gun in his face." He snickers once more and turns to leave. "They are coming you know, and they intend to kill you. They've brought a few new toys in their arsenal, chemical weapons, I would leave this forest if I were you. Continue to travel south, they are moving too slowly to keep up." He continues to leave, Igin shouts out. "Why are you doing this, why are you telling me this?" "I gave you my word did I not, you will not die until you have completed your mission. That is the only reason." The figure fades into the darkness. Igin puts out the fire, gathers his belongings, and carefully places the sleeping creature into his pocket, and leaves, heading south.

As he walks, he ponders why the man had chosen to betray him. He had done no wrong, he had completed the task that had been laid before him, yet they still hunt him down like a common criminal. But he does think too long in this matter, for he could hear his pursuers had found his campsite. Igin hastened his pace to keep far ahead of them, but is unsure of how long it will take to make it to a safe haven.

Igin makes it to a clearing, but feels wary of the situation. He is in an area where he knows of nothing. Anything could be lurking in the shadows, preparing to strike at any minute. But fatigue had finally caught up with him, and though he knew it to very foolish, he rests upon the ground, his pistol at the ready.

A faint wind blew through the trees, casting the silent darkness into a sudden flurry of sounds. His mind began to drift away in the noise, trees had always caused his soul to calm, but at the present time, it may not have been the best of ideas. Slowly the men who had been following him drew ever closer to his position. To top it all off, he had lost sight of which direction he was heading, for all he knew he could be traveling north once more, or south as he had intended.

The sounds of dogs barking symbolized he had been surrounded. The figure had tricked him, he shouldn't have proceeded south, he should have proceeded north. Igin now stands in an opening surrounded by forestry, and his pursuers have surrounded him. "Tch...fine, this the way ya wanna play, so be it!" He takes his blade off his back and holds it in his right hand, his gun in his left. "You really gonna take us all on boy? We're far more experienced assassins then you, we'll all kill you before you lay a finger on a single one of u...." The man's head slowly falls off his body, Igin's blade drips with blood, yet he hadn't moved. "Anyone else wish to make small talk before we get to killin each other?"

One by one the people attack, and one by one, Igin dispatches them with ease. By the end, his blade was blanketed by blood, and his gun had actually overheated to the point it fell apart. "Stupid piece of crap, shouldn't have bought it in the first place." He turns his attention to the lone man standing near him. "You are the leader aren't you, I can feel it, you're stronger then the others, much stronger. As well as more skillful as well, aren't you." The man nods slowly then takes a huge sword off of his back and holds it at his side.

"I will kill you with a single swipe of my blade." The man speaks calmly. Igin holds his bloodstained sword and prepares to defend himself. The man strikes Igin, he blocks but is thrown 50 feet away. Igin slowly stands up, he knows he is no match for the man but proceeds to lift his blade to strike. As he steps forward, his left leg buckles, and he falls forward. "...s**t...how could that have happened...I've never been injured so severely before..." The man approaches Igin, his blade upon his shoulder. "I told you I would kill you, but you're a bit stronger then I expected. Either way, you die now!" He rises his blade above his head and intends to strike Igin a deathblow. But Igin smiles and thrusts his blade into the ground causing a shockwave of electricity to completely paralyze all of the man's nerves and muscles.

"How did you...why can't I move!" The man screams in fear. Igin stands up and places his hand upon his leg. "A discharge crystal, within the handle of the blade. A crystal that when accessed can discharge massive quantities of electricity. Normally the discharge into the ground would not have been successful if it weren't the pools of blood all around us." He takes his blade and thrusts it into the man's chest. He feels no pain, but his face is in complete shock. "And now...you die." Igin twists the blade and pulls it upward, virtually splitting the man in half.

((If I ever get around to it I may finish...I don't know yet...))
