A Dog Ate My Homework
Though always at the top of my class
Hom schooling ran for 24 hours a day
with never a recess or time to get away
except when I had to mow the grass
It was nice to get late out of bed
mostly after 8am in the morning
but school began without warning
with all the books that had to be read
Now my days are really a jewel
with my new friends I really like so
and lots of new things for me to know
I really enjoy being back in school
but one thing is still true either way,
a dog ate my homework yesterday.
