The things that were heard in the hall were kicking, screaming, and steady footsteps.
Zircon was basically being dragged through a beautiful set of corridors by two women and a man in fancy clothes leading the way. The walls were colored a rich vermillion color while the floor is made of aesthetically polished mahogany. On the walls hung portraits of former rulers and below them were plaques, telling of teir achievements and their unique traits. The eleventh to the right side was Zircon's. The only ruler who had one eye, the only ruler who had spent time in the military below the age of fifteen, the only ruler to have completely set up a city on his own, and the only ruler who was looked up to as a god even after death.
The man and the two women stopped at Zircon's portrait. Zircon looked at the portrait at the same time and was slightly confused. Why would they want to bring him into a strange building that had beautiful furniture and had the feel that it was only for a King? The footsteps continued, and then they stopped. Looking at the Great Room, Zircon opened his eyes even wider. He had never had seen this sort of luxury in his two lives. The two women looked at each other and then the man and they continued foward.
The walking was for about two minutes until they reached an arched entrance that had a door blocking unwanted company. They opened the door and a slight creaking sound was heard. It was dark inside of the room at first until the lights began to illuminate the room slowly. It was beautiful...
The walls were red, as were the walls in the corridors, and the floor was made out of some sort of red mineral. Everything was there, a gargantuan TV, couches, a bar, a bathroom, a closet as big as the normal sized room, and a colossally sized bed. The bed could support over twenty men and women.
"My Lord, this is your room." The man said as he outstretched his arms and dramatically moved them over his head to try and describe how grand it was.
"Please, call me Zircon... Why am I h--- How is this m-- What is going on?!" Zircon was bewildered.
"Zircon... That sounds more of a peasant's new born child's name... I'll name you Lord Asriel." The man said as he smiled at the name.
Zircon narrowed his eyes slightly.
"You'll need rest in order to rule again Lord Asriel. We'll leave you be." The man said seconds later as the women let go of Zircon's arms. They all took a bow and left.
"Lord Asriel...?" Zircon said to himself. It was noticable that he was beginning to enjoy the name.
Asriel walked over to the table that was in front of the couches and saw a large crystal of obsidian. It looked as if magma and solid black rock were inside of it....
