Romance Rant
Have you ever been in an rp, titled romance? i have... usually it was assoiated with the words action and elemental which is why i actually joined one, and iv looked over several others, but by no means am I an expert...
But what realy bugs me are not realtionships in rp's, after all they are a basic part of character development... but when people mistake love for lust...
ex:
guy: "your cute"
girl: *blush* "Your cute to"
guy: *kisses*
girl & guy: *begin making out taking upon pages and pages of space just kissing... and other stuff that belongs in pms or over msn or something... not where everyone can see*
guy & girl: "i luv u"
yeah have you ever seen that in an rp? i have... many times... now its not that its wrong for people to kiss or to call each other cute... but generally unless very drunk (or paid...) you do not start making out with someone you have only known for 10 minuits! sorry but no, that isnt romance... thats just giving into the urge to do your rabbit impersonations!
now I know time is limited in rps and all... and the 10 minuits rp time could be over an hour in real life... or even a day depending on the people in question... but do me a favor and keep it in your pants!
now love itself is something to be cherished... and takes 'time' (longer then 10 minuits) to develope... I myself am personally not old enough to know that love is and 99.9% of teenagers wont either (no you are not the exception, get over your im better then everone else complex/iv been through thing you could never understand thing... and get back to the real world k?).
What i have no problem with is if the people had decided the characters in question had not just met and had infact know each other for years and actually keep the kissing to a minimum...
(sorry to my friends but this is an example that realy irriteated me, this is not ment as an attack against you) 2 characters had know each other for a week, maybe two and then they get engaged... anyone else see something wrong with that? maybe its just me... but that just shouldnt happen! now of course their are rp reasons for doing that which i understand a bit of, but unless you put in your character bio/personality : 'gives into impulses' please avoid that...
I know i know its just for fun and not real, and certianly some of the things iv had my character do in rp's is in no means realistic... (ex: picking up/throwing a full sized car at an opponent...) and rp's are just make believe... or most are... its the realistic touches with your characters that make things so much more fun for everyone.
Now please feel free to ignore everything i have just said about romance as their is a good chance i have no clue what im talking about ^.^
