Giles is in the library, up in his private area, with Buffy, Angel, Willow, Zander, and Oz. Everyone except Giles and Angel is sleeping. They have just gotten back from a slaying, when Giles and Willow were captured by Spike and Angelous. Angelous has gotten back to being Angel. Giles is flipping through the Codex.

Giles: No. It couldn't be.

Angel: (looks up) What, Giles? Another prophecy?

Giles: Perhaps. It's in Latin, so I can read it, but it's that bit at the end. It's in Vampire Tonuge. Could you read it?

Angel: Maybe. (Angel gets up to go see what Giles means. He reads the end.)

Giles: I don't know if you can read Latin, but it says 'The friendships will break, the blood will be spurt' and the rest's in Vampire Tonuge.

Angel: I can't read it. I'm not enough of a vampire to know their tonuge.

(Giles sighs and Angel goes to sit next to the sleeping Buffy. Giles starts to look at his notes. Giles looks up and sees Zander twitching in his sleep.)

Xander: No, no, Giles, Giles! What's going on?!?

(Xander wakes up, breathing heavily, clutching his neck. Xander glares at Angel.)

Xander: My neck hurts. Dead Boy, you wouldn't know anything about this, would you?

Angel gives him the look. Xander rolls his eyes.

Giles: Go back to sleep, Xander.

(Xander obliges, falling to sleep within a minute. Giles looks at Angel.)

Giles: Why was he yelling 'no, Giles, Giles!' in his sleep? Was I dying? (Angel shrugs.)

(Willow twitches in her sleep.)

Willow: Giles, he's dead! No, no, I don't like fire, run! (Willow wakes up, just like Zander, but not holding her neck.)

Giles: Willow?

Willow: Had a nightmare. You were dead, Giles, your neck was snapped in two. And I was being burnt at the stake!

Angel: Go back to sleep, Willow.

(Willow lays down and falls back asleep.)

Buffy: No, Giles, it can't be! Oz, breathe, breathe! Angelus! Angel!

(Buffy wakes up. Angel turns to her.)

Buffy: Oh, Giles, you're alive!

Giles: In how many dreams do I have to die?

Buffy: Angel, I had this nightmare, Oz was drowning and I couldn't help him, and--it must just be the aftermath of yesterday--you, well, Angelus, actually, pushed me off a cliff!

Angel: Calm down, Buff, I'm still Angel.

(Oz screams in his sleep.)

Oz: Giles! Ahh, Willow, fire! Buffy, cliff! Cliff! Xander, no!

(Oz wakes up and looks at Giles. Giles sighs.)

Oz: Giles! You're alive! And Buffy--Willow--Xander?

Giles: They're fine, Oz. (Oz blinks twice.)

Giles: Well, I can't keep reading the Codex. Good night. (Giles lays down on the floor and starts to fall asleep.)

Giles: (in sleep) No, you won't have me! Buffy! Help! Help, anybody! Angel! Make him let go!

(Giles wakes up, shaking, covered in cold sweat.)

Angel: Nightmare? You died? (Giles nods. Giles gets up, goes back to his desk. Everybody wakes up.)

Giles: Maybe everybody should go home now. (Everyone nods, gets up, and leaves, execpt for Angel.)

Giles: Angel, maybe you could come over to my apartment--help me with the prophecy?

Angel: Sure.

--IN GILES' APARTMENT--

(Giles is making a cup of tea, not with his favorite teacup, but with a plain yellow one. There's a knock on the door.)

Giles: Come in, Angel!

(Angel enters. He crosses the room to Giles, and Giles turns around, his back to Angel.)

Giles: The Codex is on my desk.

Angel: I don't need the Codex." (Angelus's face turns vampire.) "I just need you."

(Angel snaps Giles's neck, Giles yells, and falls on the floor, dead. Angelus laughs and swipes the Codex off Gile's desk and pockets it. Angelus leaves.)

--OUTSIDE WILLOW'S HOUSE--

(A stake is planted in the ground. Coals surrounds it. Her mother is holding her. A police officer takes her, ties her to the stake, and lights the coals.)

Willow: No! I'm not a witch! No! Mother, help, father! Help!

(The fire is halfway up her body. Willow's head droops and she is dead.)

--IN THE MASTER'S LAIR--

(Darla, The Master, Angelus, Drusilla, and Spike are sitting there.)

The Master: What about the boy? Xander?

Darla: I'll finish him off, Master.

Angelous: I couldn't find him, Master.

(Footsteps are heard, and Darla and The Master spin around to see Xander, panting, out of breath.)

Xander: Angelus--where's G-man? (Xander takes out a cross. Angelus recoils slightly.)

(The Master steps up to him.)

Master: You think that it will affect Darla and I? We have trained ourselves not to be harmed by the cross. (The Master yanks it out of his grasp and shatters it against the wall. Xander takes a step back.)

Xander: Er--I'll just go now...

Angelus: Why did you come down here? Did you think I'd bring the Watcher?

Xander: Maybe. (Angelus bites Xander, and Xander falls down, not entirely dead, but not a vampire.)

Darla: Master, I will take care of Oz.

Master: Hurry.

--THE SWIMMING POOL'S EDGE--

(Oz is kneeling by the public swimming pool's edge, looking into the water. Darla appears behind him.)

Darla leans close to Oz's ear.

Darla: Like swims? (Darla pushes Oz in, and Oz stays at the bottom. Darla dissapears, and Buffy comes running to help.)

(Buffy dives in, brings Oz up to the surface, and Cordelia comes running.)

Cordelia: Buffy--what's wrong with Oz?

Buffy: Drowned. Call 911, quickly. (Cordelia calls 911, and they come and bring Oz to the hospital. Buffy starts crying, and runs until she's at the edge of a cliff.)

(Angelus is behind Buffy.)

Angelus: Are you okay? (Buffy turns around.)

Buffy: Angel?

Angelous: Good bye, Slayer! (Angelous pushes Buffy off the cliff, and Buffy lands in the river. Cordelia comes running.)

Cordelia: Murderer! (Cordelia pushes Angelus off the cliff, and he falls into the river.)

--IN THE HOSPITAL--

(Cordelia and Mrs. Summers are bent over Buffy's body. Cordelia had called 911 to come help Buffy, and they thought that Angelous was dead, so they left him.)

Cordelia: Buffy? Buffy? Oh, Mrs. Summers, I need to tell you something. (Cordelia leads Mrs. Summers away from Buffy.)

Cordelia: You know that Buffy's a Vampire Slayer, correct? Well, Darla, that girl that said she was Buffy's study partner, is a vampire. So's Angel, that one boy.

Mrs. Summers: Stop talking nonsense, Cordelia. (Cordelia walks back over to Buffy.)

Cordelia: I wish you were alive, Buffy.

(Buffy's pulse comes back.)

Cordelia: Buffy's alive!

--IN GILES' APARTMENT--

(Cordelia and Xander are trying to bring Giles back, like they did for everyone else.)

Cordelia: You do it!

(Xander repairs Giles's neck and Cordelia says some words and Giles's arm twitches.)

Giles: What? I'm not dead? We've got to find Angel--I mean Angelus--and kill him. He killed me.

Xander: Angelus killed me.

(Giles gets up and grabs his crossbow, because he always keeps weapons in his secrect area.)

Giles: Hurry. Get Buffy, Willow, Oz, whoever can help! Meet me in the library. Where's the Codex? Oh, Angelus has it!

(Xander and Cordelia run to get Buffy, Willow, and Oz.)

--IN MASTER'S LAIR--

(Darla, Angelus, Master, Drusilla, and Spike are in Master's lair.)

Master: Angelus, they are alive. You have failed me three times. You shall pay. (Darla smirks.)

Master: Light. Spike, get him light. (Spike grabs Angelus and leads him away.)

Angelus: Spike, you really suck.

Spike: Duh! I'm a vampire, idiot. That's what vampires do. Suck--blood.

Angelus: Whatever. I just hope this Codex in my pocket doesn't burn with me.

(Spike fails to hear him.)
