Today I remembered why I usually don't talk with my parents about school/life.

[Mom]
First of all, if you even mention a grade of a B to my mom, she'll start saying things like, "How shameful, a daughter of mine with an 80 yada yada." Or, "You don't understand anything, do you? Remember! Only A's will get you through life!!"

She'll also give you this...'How embarassing...she can't even get an A on an Algebra test? What an unseemly child.' look. It pisses me off. What's more annoying is that she took up my brother's habit and says, "sad" every time she's 'disappointed'. Oh yes, it pisses me off.

Then she'd try and talk you down with 'what are you going to do with yourself?' questions... If you walk off in order to ignore her, she'll just talk to another person in the room about your almost-failing grades, how shameful it was and etc. If someone's on the phone, she'll bring up that topic too. How that pisses me off? She speaks in a slightly loud voice, but you can hear it all the same in any area of the house...save scary attics and through mirrors.

Grr.

[Dad]
He's not that bad, I guess...just more...I dunno, annoying? He acts like a know-it-all and talks about stuff he doesn't understand. For example, when he met a member of the Thai army in Thailand, he started saying random things about the US Army. Stuff like, say...they only have seven sheets of toilet paper to use each day.

...

Yeah.

That's not exactly what he said, but it's close.

Also, he has his own personal look that he gives you while talking: the glare of someone trying to be sophisticated and failing. He repeats himself unnecessarily and...that's pretty much it.

Well, anyway, I've learned my lesson again. I'll have to keep everything to myself, write it in a journal/etc, and make up white lies every day.

Maybe monday I'll use, "Oh, it was fun. We learned about absolute value equations and chemical bonds! =D"

...no. I'd kill myself first.

Or, maybe I could say that, turn around, slap myself and walk off... It could work...maybe...

Perhaps something vague would work...

"Oh, I did old stuff, learned new stuff, got homework and that's it. I'll go take a nap now."

Hmm.
