Sunday was a pretty boring day. We had back to back sessions in the morning. One was about acedemics and that one was just plain awful. The second was about drugs and alchol and that one was rather lame. We're eighteen, we've heard it all beofre people. then we had lunch and a little bit of free time which I spent with my friends. OH wait before lunch we went exploring to find a building where one of our classes was. It was like the best walk ever. It's super far away, but you get to walk across this cool covered bridge over a foresty creek thing and then there is this really cool feild on the other side sorrounded by a small brick wall that we have affectionatley dubbed "The Not so Great wall of Rutgers."
Anyway, after Lunch we had two more sessions. The first was saftey tips. I know sounds like it will be the worst one yet right. Well, it wasn't actually. the guy giving the speech was Jeff the on campus cop for my campus. He's really funny and he made the session actually enjoyable. The next session was supposed to be "The real world" about college life and stuff not the TV show. Unfourtunatley me and my friends got ummm...lost on the way there yeah that's it. Instead we just killed time looking around a bit and such, just hanging out. We also checked out the poster sale and me and Angel got a Nightmare Before Christmas Poster for our room.
After that there was an activities fair where all the clubs were. I signed up for info on the seeing eye puppy raising club which I fully intend to stcik with, I've always wanted a dog.
The outdoors club, they do all kinds of trips and stuff that including hicking and stuff. Should be fun. The pre-vet and animal scince club. I'll probobaly choose one or the other though. SAGA(Straight And Gay Alliance) which I fully intend to stick with. And the renisscance club wich does reanactments and all. It looked really interesting, but not sure if I'll stick with that one. After that was dinner then a really awesome hypnotist show which I'm not even going to try to explain. That was it for Sunday.
Yesterday was a bit of a better day. We had sessions in the morning. The first was student life which was posotivley awful, even worse then the acedemics one. It was just so boring. Then came sexual assult awareness. That one wasn't bad. They put on this kind of play thing, it was kinda cool. After that we had lunch then free time. There was also a trip to target that I went on, got some items I needed and had forgotten.
Anyway, after target I just killed some time online here with some of you guys. Then was the rumble. Now the rumble is a compition between all the dorms on campus and the commuters also. We all get a color and the overall theme this year was welcome to the jungle. Our color by the way was orange and we decided to be tigerish in keeping with our theme. All the dorms had to do come up with an enterance and a talent show that were done as a whole team. There were also relay races of various types. five of them. Everyone in the winning dorm gets a class mug that says Residence Hall Rumble Champions and bragging rights. Honestly this didn't sound like my thing but I went and talked some of my friends into coming and not hiding out in their dorms. With a little coaxing from my friends, I got my face painted to show more support also.
I ended up getting really into it. We had to show our spirts and stuff cheer on our team and all and I yelled myself hoarse along with everybody else. After all the competitions were over, we did a tradtional walk around this lake on campus that you repeat in you graduation year except in the oppposite direction. It's supposed to signify going full circle. Twas quite a walk, but we got glowsticks and necklases and it was actually really cool looking. I wish I'd had my camera. As we approached the lake, there were some streakers. Yes, no lie there were three guys who ran right in front of us totally naked. it was too dark to actually seen anything but it was obvious they didn't have any clothes on. Also some people jumped in the lake wich was crazy cause it looks rather green and smells like sewage, but whatever. ON the way back somepeople got this tree that fell over during the storm. Not a huge one but pretty big. They carried it all the way back to the gym and everybody tossed their necklaces on it. It was so awesome though. As one of the peoploe in charge said, "How many of your friends can say they are sitting in a gym celebrating right now holding up a tree." It was really awesome, we threw shirts of all the colors onto it also. It was just cool.
When we got back to the gym they announced the winner. Turns out twas us everybody. I didn't think I'd really care but it was such a great feling. It was awesome, I can't really describe it. Anyway we got our mugs then headed back to the dorm. That was it for orientation.
