Chapter Six: No Yellow Brick Road For You! (Chapter 5.6)

The scenery around me was simply amazing! Mountains, as far as the eye could see to my right. Huge, vast lands of fields to my left side. A look above me shows almost no clouds in the sky. And straight into the horizon in front of me, a combination of both mountain and field. Massive roaming hills with deep valleys in between them, and it seemed to blend just perfectly. It was like yellow meets blue to form green in such a beautiful way. Near the mountains, I could just make out a small lake with all kinds of birds either drinking the water, eating the fish or just flying high above it. I could never have imagined seeing something like this at home. Everything just fit like puzzle pieces to make this one breathtaking sight. Crap, no camera. The only possible way to remember this picture perfect moment now would be with my memory obviously. It wouldn't be a problem though. Something this extraordinary would be burned in my brain under that small category of 'Super Duper Awesome Stuff.'

K. Wolf interrupted my happy time by pointing to me the way to Fountain City. He literally pointed to me exactly where the city was. It wasjust beyond a few hills but a little bit to the left of them. I had to squint, but I was able to see a few of the taller buildings that weren't overshadowed by the big green circular objects. I nodded to show I had seen them and he told me the walk wouldn't be that bad, just a couple of miles. He searched through his trenchcoat and pulled out a small cantine for water. It wasn't filled up though, which bummed me out. He did mention of a small stream about one mile up the dirt road. Wait, I looked around the area and I didn't see any dirt road. K. Wolf just chuckled and said I would see it eventually. I had my doubts, but they quickly vanished. K. Wolf knows this area, and I trust him completely. Finally, he told me he had some other stuff to do and we parted ways. He headed back into the jungle behind me and I started the trek to Fountain City. I could've sworn I was forgetting something though. s**t! Nara! I forget to ask him about Nara! s**t, s**t. I had to let it go, K. Wolf was probably long gone in that jungle anyway. I had to reassure myself that Nara would be in Fountain City waiting for me. The scenery was also helping my reassurence too. Everything was just too pretty not to be looked at.

Soon enough I found the dirt road Wolfy was talking about and tried to count how many steps I would need to take to get to this stream. I had to admit, I was darn thirsty. I would love to get some water flowing inside of me again. The mile didn't take that long as the little stream was on my left. I rushed up to it and pulled the cap off my newly collected cantine. A minute later and my cantine was full with that all-mighty liquid. My legs were hurting, though, so I sat on the ground to rest up for a minutes. Suddenly, a small mysterious critter showed up at the scene. It looked really pooped out too, like it had been walking for ages. It was very odd-looking. Its body was brown paper bag, and the mouth was right in the front of it. It had those little puppy eyes that no one can resist too. There was no nose, no arms or hands, and no legs on it anywhere, or at least from what I saw. Though it did have these little shoes. The shoes were like elf shoes, kinda long and curled up right at the tips. Overall it was no taller than my knee. I noticed the little thing was panting and breathing very heavily. So I did what any good person would do, I offered my cantine to the creature. He ran over to it as fast as his little shoes could carry him and immediately started slurping the water from the cantine. I could tell it was happy, and the way it was drinking that water was like a little baby drinking milk from a bottle. It was cute, and I smiled inside of me for helping out someone in need, or something in this case. When the cantine was out of water I took it back from him and he started hopping and bouncing up in down in glee. But then he jumped at the cantine and snatched it away from my hands! What the hell? This brown paper bag creature just stole my new cantine!

So I got up as quickly as I could and gave chase to the little monster. Damn monster bag, stealing my thing. God damn it was fast though, and this dirt path isn't exactly the greatest to run on. But I was in track a year ago, so I know I could fast. With each step I took I was catching up to the thief. Yet I knew if I didn't catch him on this first try I wasn't gonna catch him at all. I was a sprinter, not a marathon runner. My legs were really hurting by this time, as I wasn't fully recovered from the rest. I didn't care, I was down-right pissed off at this bag, and I could've sworn that the tracks from my shoes were catching fire from my speed. Only ten feet away. Eight feet. Five feet. Two feet away. I was in arms reach now. I was burning tracks and I had both my arms ready to grab that paper bag and my cantine. If there was any spectators, they would've seen exactly how stupid I must've looked with both my arms out chasing this little monster thief bag. It was a weird sight to see. I thought to myself, I had to get this thing right now, so I took a risk and dove at it with open arms readyto grab it. Nyugh! Gotcha! Then the rolling started. Me on top of him, him on top of me, back and forth, back and forth. It finally ended with me on top of him, and I just grabbed that cantine like it was the last cookie in the cookie jar from the little thief that he was. I think I might've called him a b***h at one point in the struggle but I'm not 100% sure. As soon as the cantine was in my arms again, the little creep bounced out of my arms. We stared at each other and I gave him a few evil eyes. In his retort, the craziest thing happened. The top of his baghead opened up and this weird gas and smoke smothered the area. It was sleeping gas! s**t! It kept pouring out of his bag and the monster just stood there staring at me. s**t, I gotta get up and get out of this place before I...fall...asleep...........to.........zzZ.....this.......ZzzzZ.......thing..........ZZZZzzzzzzz.....

Though, right before I fell into dreamland, I heard a very low and very deep voice. It came from the monster bag. This is what I heard, and I quote, "Enn Ee Dee Emm..."

I woke up to the sound of someone calling out to me. My mind kept hearing the words 'Hey! Hey! Listen! Hey!' I got up to my feet and stretched my sore muscles. I had no doubt that my cantine had been stolen, and sure enough, it wasn't anywhere on the ground around me. I took a look at the new stranger and gave him a look of confusion. I was still half asleep when he asked me his question:

"You heading to Fountain City?"
