View User's Journal

the heck is this?
Rhapsody

It's a cool word so it gets to be the first (Zenith is the second coolest)

For a long time I've thought about keeping an online journal (not for fame and glory, these things are either a myth or a curse) but for the sake of consistency. Ever since highschool, I've been on and off into creating a fantasy series based on the toys which kept me company thoughout my lonely adolescence, but despite managing to fill over 60 pages of my old notebook, I've never managed to write it with any semblance of a routine (even back in my olden days there are written records of year-long gaps) so the story was plagued with (as TvTropes would call it) 'Early-Installment Weirdness'. There were generic fantasy creatures in the world and the supposedly likeable protag came across as a psychotic jerk instead of the cryptic loner I envisioned. But over the years, my brain automatically updated the story (even if it was just adding 'radical cool momentz' that somehow formed a plot without anything between them) and now I finally had the recipe to begin writing something I could proudly show to a random person. Except I didn't have anywhere to keep it. I thought about just finding the first platform that showed up by typing 'fanfiction' on google, but since I can count the amount of fanfictions I've read in my fingers, I prudently kept my distance from that subculture. I've settled for dreamwidth for the time being, but my complete lack of customization abilities (including here) kept me away from updating the logs for a while. However, on march 22 of 2023, during my mindless candy and daily prize collecting, I've decided to sort out my profile and realized the journal space was empty, which prompted me to figure out what it even was. Io and behold, it was just what I was looking for! And as a bonus, it's on Gaia, which means I get to look forward to coming here to do something productive for once (grinding on zOMG was fun but I hardly did it in a party, so I have never ever gotten past Lorelei on the Shallow Seas...). So, anyway, bear with me during this test period and you might just get to see the beggining of a (highly acclaimed cult classic, maybe) series that could put a smile on your face, be it from the silly writing, cringeworthy shenanigans or heartwarming moments (probably won't be from the romance, I suck at that).

The experiment begins now...
