In solemn verse
What do you see

Who is the one
That will bring you peace
You say you’re alone
And you say that you’re scared
But behind all your speeches
Do you really care?
Do you not prefer sorrow?
Do you not prefer strife?
Do you not perceive anguish
As the meaning of life?
While speaking naught but heartache
You fail to say the truth
While seeing naught but sadness
You throw away your youth
Crying in the dust, my child
Will leave you black as coal
For a life amongst the shadows
Does little for your soul.
