Fam Outing #1
We had a family outing yesterday.
Tebby, Tebby's Pop, Torr (sis), Milo (bro), and I visited the best water park in Destin, FL :
Big Kahuna's.
So first, the day started slowly. I had to get dressed, pack, blah blah.
Then they picked me up. As soon as I got in the car, I felt a little awkward 'cause it was the first time I would be spending time with Pop. And from what I heard, he didn't like me cause I'm black and Tebby's not. >:u Lame reason, I know.
But we did ok. I had to get past the nasty twang of his country music blaring from the car radio. It was less than pleasant, though sitting with Tebby and Torr in the back seat made it easy to ignore. We all laughed and cracked jokes at NPR Radio's obvious public service announcements. No one else will get this but... Hey Tebby ! Lasagna.
Our first stop was brunch in Destin. Nothing glorious, just Wendy's. Yay for spicy chicken. When we got in the parking lot, there was some angry family sedan, screaming " BEEEEP, BEEEEP ". It had an open trunk...Anyway, they messed up Milo's order a bit, because our five person bill. Yes, Pop paid for everything, even mine. It made me feel a little guilty for all the bad I've heard about him.
After eating, we finally arrived at the park. Pop paid for entry (which I was expecting, cause Tebby warned me). We then began looking around for a place to camp. Tebby took me by the hand, leading me about. It was the first time I'd ever been there, though I must have passed it a million times. He smiled at my wide eyed gaze.
I had to calm my awestruck state in order to properly find a sitting spot. It took us forever to find one. Each way we went lead us no where. After twisting and turning up and down endless flights of stairs, we found the perfect table. We all changed, and it was on to the fun.
I was begging to get in the wave pool, though Tebby and Torr insisted on getting on the biggest slide in the whole park first. I managed to squeeze them into a lazy river, so that I could delay going down the big black hole as it were. We floated down the lazy river's tiny slides and chutes at a very calm pace.
It didn't last long. So they hooked there arms to mine, leading me twords a line I didn't wanna get in. Well, they got me in it. We travelled almost steadily through the traffic of waiting riders until the top was in sight. I couldn't do it. I freaked out and successfully talked them into letting me go back down. When they told me to meet them at the bottom, I felt so relieved. I scurried down the stair way with a thousand "excuse me's".
But that got me into another trouble. I was new here. So where the hell would I find the bottom of that slide ?! Not all the attractions were linked, and I noticed a lot of the slides were often sectioned off in weird ways. I travelled in every direction I could, trying to find Jumanji's bottom. I succeeded half way... It was acrossed from a lazy river that had blue " No Entry " lines down the side.
Just as I found the slide, they came down the chute. I was happy to see them and pointed to the one entry I could see for that side. Torr and Teb hopped in and rushed to see me. Teb got caught trying to cheat and hop out on the no entry side. He got the whistle... I laughed. He glared at me as I lead them to the exit, which wasn't far away.
