Samsung unveiling Galaxy Note 4 in Berlin, New York and Beijing - Cleveland home technology
Samsung is unveiling the next big Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at simultaneous events in Berlin, New York and Beijing on Sept. 3 according to this CBSNews.com article dated Sept. 3. The new Note 4 appears as predicted, and includes an unusual color, Blossom Pink, as shown in the Samsung.com photo attached to this article. A second version, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, is also debuting now and sports a curved screen; Samsung photos of the Note Edge are visible in the slideshow attached to this article.

Samsung has presented the last three versions of its Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone at the Berlin-based IFA technology show and is supplementing today's Berlin announcements with simultaneous events in New York and Beijing. In addition to regularly posted articles, hour-by-hour CNET blogs carry the stories today. In case you're wondering, IFA stands for Internationale Funkausstellung. Translated, it's the International Radio Exposition. This is one of the oldest tech shows around. It began in Berlin in 1924 and has evolved from a radio exposition to a major show that features technical and industrial exhibitors from around the globe.

Rumors have predicted that Samsung will have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 available in retail stores on Sept. 15. DigitalTrends.com had reported this in an Aug. 8 article. The Galaxy Note is Samsung's biggest smartphone series with the 5.7 inch screen, nicknamed the "Phablet." Note 4 is the latest versions of the phone LeBron James advertised last year in commercials and online videos featuring his wife and his sons.

As widely predicted, the Note 4 continues to use the 5.76 inch screen size seen in all the prior Note smartphones. The IBT (International Busines Times) prediction that a new Note 4 might have a curved display has also come true with the Note Edge. Also of interest, Note 4 features a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera and 3.7 megapixel front-facing camera and a voice recorder that allows selective listening of recorded group conversations.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is likely to have a price above the standard $200 benchmark when it's initially released but that price could dip below $200 within a few weeks. It isn't likely that a higher price will stay in place for long. In competitive environments, technology prices typically go down over time, not up. These prices assume the buyer signs up for a new, two-year commitment for phone services from a service provider such as ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile or Sprint. The new phone will cost over $500 without a new commitment. Each of the major carriers also offers a plan that allows the buyer to pay for the phone over time.

After it's launched, expect the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to be available at Best Buy, Verizon, ATT, Sprint, and T-Mobile stores and on Amazon.com. It's worthwhile to check availability online to avoid a wasted trip.
