You Can Camp In The Great Outdoors
There are three common types of camping RV, cabin and tent rental. Each of these types of camping can be great fun. No matter the type of camping trip you plan to take, you need to prepare for just about anything. Read the guide below to learn how to make your camping trip as enjoyable as it can possibly be.

Purchase a quality tent. It can be tempting to score a good deal on a tent, but you want to find something that can hold both you, your family members and your belongings. Try visiting a store that specializes in outdoor gear. They tend to have well-made products that will last for a while.

Make sure you have enough time to set up camp before dark if you are going on a camping adventure. It can be extremely difficult to set up camp in the dark and possibly unsafe. You need to be able to scout the terrain, prepare bedding, and possibly build some temporary shelter prior to the sun going down.

Keep in mind that everything and everyone that goes camping is going to get quite dirty. It won't stress you out when it occurs if you're prepared beforehand. Enjoy your time in the woods by letting yourself get and relax dirty. You can get cleaned up when you return home.

It is essential for your safety to make sure to let someone know you are going, before you start out on that relaxing camping trip. Give a friend or neighbor the name of the campsite if you are using one. If you are headed out on a less structured trip, give your contact a general idea of where you are headed and a timeline for your return. There will be someone to know where to look for you if something goes wrong.

When you bring your dog on a camping trip, make certain he has adequate tick protection. If your dog has everything he needs and what you should do for proper tick removal and prevention, bugs thrive in forests, and many flea treatments do not extend protection to include ticks, so ask your vet before departing.

While camping, cook easy dinners like "hobo stew". Simply bring potatoes, ground meat, and veggies. Cut the veggies and potatoes at your campsite. Using tinfoil like a bowl, put the ingredients inside and fold the foil over until the food is covered. Place foil on hot rocks or the coals of the campfire, and eventually you will have a tasty "stew".

Get a sleeping bag that is warm enough. This is important. Even if you go camping in the summertime, nights can get very cold out in the wild. There are sleeping bags promising protection from varying cold temperatures it is a good idea to opt for as low a temperature as you can find.

Make sure that you take some activity equipment with you. Card games are a fun way to pass the time if the weather does not cooperate. Take extra things for entertainment if you have children.

Ensure that there is something available to keep everyone entertained if you are camping with others. There is nothing worse than a bored campmate, as they will constantly pester you for activities. Before hand and make sure they know how to entertain themselves for the trip, talk to your friends and family.

Don't forget the duct tape when you pack for a camping trip, to solve just about any dilemma! It is good for patching holes intents and shoes, and inflatables. It is also good for securing tents and sealing up mosquito nets.

Purchase camping pillows for a camping trip! The typical pillows will become sticky in humid and hot climates. Because they absorbs moisture, those big pillows can also mildew. Pillows designed for best recurve bow camping offer a coating that prevents moisture absorption.

Unless you are a wildlife expert, you should never drink water that you haven't brought to the campsite with you. Water may look crystal clear but actually be home to a host of diseases or bacteria. Always choose running water over stagnant water if you are in an emergency.

Cross contamination is not an issue that only affects people that cook at home. When you are cooking outdoors, you still have to worry about not using the same cutting board to cut meat that you do to cut any other foods. If you only have one board, use both sides.

People who are going camping would be wise to stay away from axes to do their chopping. Sure an Ax might make you feel manly, but in many conditions, particularly when it is wet outside, or you are tired, an ax is a one-way ticket to the hospital.

You may think it is not necessary to bring a nice sleeping bag if you will be camping in a warm area. That is a huge mistake as many areas cool off considerably at night. Secondly, a sleeping bag helps to mitigate uneven or rocky ground, allowing for more comfortable sleep.

Never forget to pack ample toilet paper on your next camping trip. If there are no restrooms in your camp area, you must go in the woods. Using leaves to wipe could open yourself to mistakenly wiping with poison ivy, so be sure you remember the toilet paper.

Always take along a survival and first aid kit when you're going camping. You can easily take care of problems that may occur without having to cut your trip short if you do this. You may also be able to prevent things that are serious from becoming deadly and earn yourself enough time to get the injured some medical help.

Know what types of poisonous plants to watch out for when you are camping. If you have kids and they are unaware of dangers lurking, this is especially important. The three common poisonous plants to watch out for are poison ivy, poison sumac and poison-oak. The best rule of thumb to remember these plants by, avoid trees with three leaves or carrying berries.

Many people will tell you that they have fond memories of camping. The information provided here should help make it so that you have a memorable trip as well, as long as you keep the information in mind. You should know be ready to field any curve balls that come your way!
