Inexpensive and Safe Home Remedies for Acne
Books, magazines, and the internet are all good sources of acne home remedies. How can you tell which of these remedies work, though? You can read about studies done on particular home remedies and go over user testimonials. At some point, though, you're just going to have to try the remedies yourself to find out which ones work and which ones don't. It's important, however, that you know what the possible side effects are of any treatment before you use it. The following are some home remedies for acne that have a good track record at helping people with this annoying skin condition.

The foods you eat can significantly affect your skin. Acne outbreaks are often the result of eating certain foods that a person is sensitive to. If you have a dairy allergy, you may need to avoid eating diary products. You'll also want to cut back on your consumption of unhealthy fats, or better yet, completely eliminate them from your diet. These unhealthy fats are found in processed foods and junk foods. Do you often eat fast foods or deep fried foods? If you do, you're putting way too much unhealthy fats in your body. You can cut back on the unhealthy fats by preparing meals yourself at home and eating more of the healthy stuff: veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts, and lean protein. If you stick to a healthy diet, your skin will benefit, and if you have an acne problem, you might see a reduction in acne.

One of the most potent natural treatments for acne is aloe vera. Aloe vera has many healing properties. Aloe vera also possesses anti-bacterial properties. There are numerous aloe vera products available as a topical treatment. Aloe vera is a plant that is easy to grow so consider growing it if you have an herb garden. You can also try drinking aloe vera. Aloe vera products with natural and pure aloe vera are best. Many products sold on the market do have aloe vera, but it's mixed in with other ingredients such as harsh chemicals that would only cause further harm to the skin.

Some evidence exist pointing to green tea as an effective remedy for acne. Green tea is loaded with antioxidants. EGCG in particular has been found to help keep cells healthy and flush out toxins from the body. Besides being beneficial to the skin, green tea has properties that can prevent hypertension and increase metabolism.

Green tea can be consumed as a drink and in capsule form. It can also be applied externally onto the skin. What you do is boil green tea leaves. Allow them some time to cool off and then wrap the leaves in a cloth. Apply the cloth on your face. This will help clean out your pores and get rid of the oils, clearing up your acne. If you give natural remedies a try, you're likely to find one that is effective in managing your acne. Acne can be stubborn, so don't expect your acne problem to go away overnight. However, there are those who say that natural remedies like tea tree oil are fast-acting. In addition to the remedies you use, sleep and a healthy diet are important to keep your skin healthy.
