Black Cathedral: Large, religious organization that essentially controls the world. Is actually extremely corrupt but has had very little opposition strong enough to oppose them.
Crimson Knights: Elite and massive army that works for Black Cathedral. Responsible for keeping peace and exterminate monsters. Is actually a force for putting down any resistance movements and keeping Black Cathedral in charge.
Resistance Group(To be named later.): Underground group that wants to overthrow the tyrant Black Cathedral yet lacks the power, resources, and information to do so. Is constantly growing with each passing day.
Priestesses: While all beings are born with an aptitude for magic, Priestesses are the only people capable of calling forth a Guardian. Guardians are extraordinarily powerful allies that are summoned for who knows where and are not to be taken lightly. It is common for their to only ever be 9 Priestesses in active service with the Black Cathedral. (1 for the Main Branch, and 8 for the following Sub-Branches) There has been much research as to why it is only women that are capable of summoning a Guardian but the only results that have been found is that this summoning ability is somewhat influenced by genetics. Thus Priestesses are kept sheltered from the outside world and usually married off to a powerful magic user in hopes of keeping the summoning ability within the Black Cathedral's grasp.
White Knights: A separate unit, not part of the standard Crimson Knights. White Knights are specially chosen warriors who swear their loyalty not to the Black Cathedral, but to the Priestess they are contracted with. This contract, performed and completed via a magic ritual, binds the chosen Knight to the Priestess for life and is not to be taken lightly. Should the Knight be injured to badly or other issues arise, the Priestess is able to cancel the contract but this generally comes at the price of the previous Knights memories or even life. In most recent years, the contract for a White Knight is only preformed when the Priestess has decided that this person is the one she will be spending the rest of her life with. (Essentially, the man she loves.)
Guardians: Phantasmal and mythical creatures summoned by Priestesses. No single Guardian is ever summoned by two different Priestesses and it has remained so since the discovery of the summoning ability. Meaning, every Priestesses has a Guardian that only she can summon and no one is capable of calling upon that same Guardian. Guardians range in a massive variety of species, sizes, ex ctc. Or, at least that is how it is seen by the Black Cathedral. Truth be told, they don't really know if there is a limit to how many types of Guardians exist. All they know is every single one of them is powerful and must be kept secret from the masses.
