Monkey Beachfront Penang

Teluk Duyung, known as Monkey Beachfront, is located in Penang Nationwide Park in the North-West hotel booking malaysia area of Penang Tropical island.

So called because of the Crab-eating Macaque's that live around in this article, the beach is probably the nicest beaches in Penang Island, having a long stretch of white sandy seaside that is good for swimming as it is not plagued by the jellyfish that may be found off a lot of the other beaches in Penang.

Teluk Duyung is really a popular place to check out during weekends and public holidays, when many locals will come here for the day by boat to enjoy a picnic on the seashore. Head here through the weekdays and it is very much quieter.

Getting to Monkey Beach Penang

There is no street access to the beach, so that you either have to charter a boat in the entrance to the Federal Park at Teluk Bahang, which will cost you around 50RM (for every boat) or you can walk along the coastline from the National Park. The walk in is just a bit less than 3 and a half km and takes a lot of people under a couple of time, but can be done quicker or much more slowly depending on your fitness and how many times you stop.

To reach hotel murah di kl the National Park entrance, take coach number 101 from Georgetown Jetty, Chulia Street or KOMTAR. This same bus can also be caught from Tanjung Bungah or Batu Ferringhi.

Trekking to Monkey Seashore

After registering on the parks office, enter in the park and just adhere to the path along the coastline (flat and easy) for 1 km until you come to Sungai Tukun, the location where the path divides into two.

Turning still left here would require on a short move to the Canopy Pathway (Titian Kanopi - Note : you have to obtain Canopy Walkway seats before you get here at the registration office) and eventually up over the mountain to Pantai Kerachut (Kerachut Beach).

Following Sungai Tukun the pathway becomes a rainforest path, so is a lot harder to walk alongside, going up and down over headlands with a few rocks and fallen straight down trees to negotiate. Absolutely nothing too bad, yet, if your totally unfit it might cause you a few issues.

Following about 30 minutes you may reach the USM beachfront (Pantai Teluk Ailing) where the USM Analysis Station is located. This beach is usually completely empty so an excellent place to stop for a while and maybe take a swim.

This section is a lot longer at 1 3/4 km and will require around an hour to negotiate, though the trail starts again at the end of the beach, again it's just a fairly slim path through the forest with a number of headlands to go up and down.
