The studies comprise different kinds of telemedical intervention concepts. The largest part of the studies (79%, N = 54) includes some form of personal contact, either as telephone calls or videoconferencing, often combined with measurements of vital parameters or interactive systems such as computer-aided answering of standardized questionnaires. Studies including personal contact between the patients and the healthcare provider show clearly better results compared to studies without personal contact.
