The streets were as crowded as he remembered if not more crowded since then. He could hardly recognize the shop keepers from the windows and the vendors at the marketplace lined every street like molding competing for similar customers. "Tch..." Kage shook his head and shoved his hands in his pockets, but he found that his skirt was lacking and reddened from embarrassment. "H-how does he expect any man to function in this?" He growled under his breath and reached down the front of the dress to feel for his coin pouch. Maybe he had enough to get him some new clothes at this point.
"Aw, isn't she cute?" "Be careful, you never know if they are actual women anymore in this day and age..." The onlookers giggled to each other like a couple of hens not realizing that they were more correct than they imagined. Kage looked down at himself and sighed softly. Things had most certainly taken a change if people weren't able to distinguish whether he was male or female, but then again he had always had the problem of looking too effeminate for his own damn good. His only form of protection from predators was his cold personality and the fact he was the grim reaper.
Was...
He paused in horror and felt the chill of mortality run over his body. He wasn't sure exactly how he was to protect himself now. He only held so little of his abilities he wasn't confident that someone who really wanted to hurt him would be deterred by his short comings. "It doesn't matter..." He muttered out loud and continued to browse the shops in hopes of finding something that caught his eyes.
Shop after shop he looked at the colors and designs but nothing really grabbed him. His eyes kept being drawn towards his chest where he pulled out the ring attached to the chain and looked at his reflection. There was nothing in these shops that would fill the desire that this one small article held. He knew he would opt for some pants and a shirt before returning to Winter's place but in all his wandering and thoughts he didn't know exactly where he had wound up. There were no longer shops more than simply small merchants lined up.
s**t.
He was frozen in fear and further embarrassment as he searched for a map of some sort, but everyone around him seemed familiar with the area but when he quietly asked for directions they were just as confused as he was. Who was Winter? How would they know where he lived?
s**t.
Panic ran though his mind as he raced through the streets in the awkward heels trying to find something familiar. His breath quickened and his heart raced as he found himself going in what seemed like circles. He was shaking and afraid. He should have asked for Winter's address before simply walking out the door but he was too caught up in feeling sorry for himself he didn't remember to ask.
Just pick a direction and walk. Maybe you'll find your way...
Swallowing his fears he lowered his head and picked a direction hoping that when he looks up he will be in front of the familiar house. Familiar? He didn't even know what Winter's house looked like from the outside!
