Life gets complicated, and all I want to do is cry
I force myself to be strong, you barely hear a sigh.
My conscience tells me I’m not alone
But, holding in the tears has made my heart like stone.
I want to trust those around me, but I’ve always been let down
That’s why the smile I remember has been nothing but a frown.
You would never know the pain I have guarded inside,
If it wasn’t for this false smile that you know is a lie.
