Hey guyssssss I'm back xd

I know I've been slacking and I meant to write an update for day 10 but I just got tired and passed out and then forgot about it the next day. I was going to just write an update on the 15 day but a surprise comment told me that there are actually people who still read my journals! eek So on the 10th day, I surpassed the inactive Advent Children Complete (Addy) and had been holding down 2nd place steadily in Junk. Junk has been a funny little battle spanning much longer than I anticipated and yet ended abrutly. That's right. Today I finally caught up and took first place in Junk 3nodding Let's fill you in on how I got there.

Shortly after day 5, I still wasn't fully committing to junk and rather staying on par using D bait (and sometimes A although that got less and less as I got more serious about chasing down first). I would average about 1.5k junk and 10k fish but that still would not be enough sweatdrop . I got so close as to within 500 points of Fizz but had to crash out. When I awoke, it was back to 1.5k lead and she was still fishing stressed . I have to admit, as I chased, I got it down to 1k but couldn't get past and was disheartened. So I focused on passing Addy who still hadn't fished at all and wanted to see my name on the leader board as first. Well I did this and when I returned to junk, thinking I would have to settle for second, it was at nearly 3k lead. However my fishing buddies encouraged me and said I could do it so I kept my nose to the grindstone and kept grinding.

My friend who is a business major told me that "in order to get on top, you have to exploit or innovate. No middle of the road bullshit is going to get you there." I took this to heart and tried finding ways to exploit the junk and try to get back into the race and catch up to first. I tried using the strength rod plus and 65-85% cast and was soon speed fishing dredge buckets. This proved somewhat effective, as I started doubling my buckets, but consistency was off and soon I just wasn't gaining as fast I wanted. So I decided to change strategies and went full filter junk mode (whereas before it was about 2-6 fish p/ f bait junk bucket) This produced results. I was getting close to 100pts and averaging 10~min per bucket. I shot forward and decided to rest when I couldn't go any further last night. I woke up rather early and after a quick shower, went back to junking and took the lead after 3 hours. Success! Now I have to hold onto this lead. I have put up a good lead of my own now at 4k but man it was hard to keep junking after taking first. I immediately wanted to go back to catching fish again and adopting a "catch junk try to filter small fish and catch med/large at decent speed" policy but I knew I had to soldier forward. The original strategy all along was to go hard first week and take first in Gambino. Junk hard in the second week and take first and figure out future tactics from there. I just have to stick with the plan!

Today has been a good day, I'm still in the middle of my marathon so I can have some family dinner time on my day off. A random stranger popped into my room just to say keep it up. That was pretty awesome. Anyways it's time to run rather than chase. xd
