Chapter one
The Beginning of the End



Bast, Yelled my so called father, go to the Nile and get some water we’re running out!
Yes of course, replied a beautiful Egyptian girl with hair the color of the sun and shimmering amethyst eyes and the perfect weight for an 18 year old girl(I’m not kidding I am perfect, for a girl that’s treated like a slave).
I grabbed one of our pots and began to head down to the Nile, this day was colder than usual just like all the other days we had ran out of water.
I guess I just keep getting lucky, I said to myself.
What are you getting lucky about, a deep booming voice came out of nowhere. I looked to my side and saw a handsome man with deep brown eyes and a mixture of purple and black hair but he was weak with no muscles he was obviously a noble.
Uuumm the weather the last few times I’ve come out to get water it’s been cold out.
I know I’ve noticed you walking out to the river on all the cooler days.
Uuugghhh, okay.
Oh no I haven’t been watching you, that’s my house over there I see you from the veranda at my bedroom.

Why the hell were you so late, Hotep, my father, yelled in my face.
The… the prince, he walked up and began to talk to me. I replied.
Why would the royal family want anything to do with a lonely slave girl?
He said I was a proper Egyptian woman! Too good to be YOURE SLAVE, just like all the rest of us.
What did you say to me! He slapped me so hard I fell off my feet spilling all of the water i had collected onto the floor of our hut.
Now, go back to the Nile and get more water.

I don’t have to explain myself to you now go before the snakes wake up.
I hastily threw myself out of the hut carrying the pot once more to the Nile. I looked up to the veranda the prince had pointed to earlier and sure enough he was sitting there looking down to all of Thebes then he noticed me.
Hey what are you doing back!?
My father got angry…….
I’m sure he then realized the large purple mark staining my perfect alabaster skin on my face.
Oh I see……
I carried on my way to the river then put the pot under and allowed it to fill with water picked it up onto my head and began to walk back then noticed a tall brunette man with baby blue eyes and he was muscular definitely not a noble, sitting across from the prince, I knew I’d be seeing him in my dreams.
Apparently he felt someone’s eyes on him for he looked around and his gaze landed on me. I felt my heart begin to pulse faster and my cheeks turn red I then dropped my gaze then scurried away not knowing what roll he would play in my long abnormal life, and he just ignored what had happened not knowing who I was destined to be(figures).
So Bast how was your day? My older sister a redheaded girl with perfect green eyes said.
The usual, father was a first class jerk today.
Yeah; but anything new?
Well I figured out that the prince is stalking me.
Really, now I’m jealous I wish father made me the slave the prince is well, him. He’s so handsome!

Sorry sir of course, I got up and began to pick up things that weren’t in their right place and set them down where they belonged then I began to get rid of the unnecessary dust and sand on the floor (impossible task).

After i had finished cleaning i crawled into bed and quickly drifted off into sleep.
What where am I?
A bunch of glowing hieroglyphs were swirling around me in an array of magnificent colors. Then they just stopped and a scene began to unravel.

My dream was shattered by the rays of the morning sun dancing on my eyes forcing them to flutter open.
i stood up and changed into my only other outfit.
I guess I better take this down to the river and wash it.
i darted out the door before anybody could stop me and made my way to the Nile.
I wish clothes where easier to wash i complained to myself.
Everyone does. Sighed a familiar voice.
I jumped ugh who are you?
I’m Apries.
Of course you are.
I looked to my side but there was no one there.
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh? Strange. (I’m a nut case!!)
I stood up and walked back home. Only to find that my father was on a rampage and it seemed like he was planning to take it out on me.
That little rat why the hell did she think it was okay to leave I’m going to kill her.
I walked in our hut casually, hey sorry I left so early I went out to wash my clothes because they were so filthy.
You shouldn’t have come back now you’re as good as dead!
He snatched me up by my hair and began to drag me down through the city of Thebes back down to the Nile.
Please stop you and I both know this is foolish father!
Don’t call me father ever again! He tried to throw me into the now menacing waters of the Nile but I wrapped my arms around him to keep myself from flying. And the next thing I knew I was as small as my father’s hands.
He ran from me screaming demon child, demon child throughout the city of Thebes.
Well looks like I can never go home. I looked down into the once more shimmering waters of the Nile only to find that I was a beautiful rat fur like the sun and deep purple eyes then I was back to my normal self within seconds. I sat down leaning up against the wall of the palace and buried my face in my hands. Knowing that there was no hope and I would soon die of starvation or heat stroke.
For days I had been on the street begging for food and money but not one soul was kind enough to give it to me so I just stopped asking.
I’m going to die out here no one has been kind to me and I’m going to starve.
I had been telling myself for days.
Bored I then picked up a stone with my shaky hands and threw it, I watched it till it faded out of sight.
Here take this came another familiar voice.
I looked up only to see Apries looking down at me with no facial expression.
Thank you, is there anything I can do for you? Like I’d actually do something for him.
No, I don’t need anything.
Well if you change your mind just tell me okay, Apries?

From that point on Apries returned everyday and gave me food. He is officially the love of my life!
Hey Bast I’m so sorry I couldn’t come sooner father wouldn’t let me leave the house. Serenity stated.
`It’s alright. I replied.
No its not you’ve been starving out here.

Then out of nowhere someone grabbed me and dragged me into a large
group of people. I began to look around curious what was going on, and then I heard a man begin to speak.
King Aknamcommon died last night in his sleep and his son shall take his place
on the throne we have gathered everyone here because he must choose a queen
to rule beside him.
The prince then stood in front of the populous of Thebes and began to
search the crowd for a woman he knew he could trust, love, and one that he knew
could rule a kingdom with a kind heart, and loving personality.
It’s not going to be me. I’m too untrustworthy.
Then he raised his arm and pointed into the crowd at the very last girl to have
Arrived, all the girls got excited thinking he was pointing at them some even began to fight each other.
One of the guards came up to me.
Excuse me miss will you come with me?
Oh um of course. The guard led me to the front of the crowd
Now could you all simmer down, the pharaoh began.
They continued on with what they where doing.

Let me pharaoh, Apries commanded.
Of course.
All of you shut up and stand still now!
It was silent for a while.
Who the hell do you think you are telling us what to do! A random girl from the crowd yelled
I am the guardian of the pharaoh.
No you’re not, the pharaoh began, you are my most trusted advisor, so do as he says.
There were a few grumbles of dissaprovment but they did as they were told.
What is your name I never got it? The pharaoh asked.

People of Thebes, the pharaoh began; this is your new queen Bast!
The villagers began to get angry.
What’s wrong with her?

She’s the demon get away from her!

Oh I almost forgot Apries Bast needs a new dress, go and get her measurements. The pharaoh interrupted

He led me down to a small room at the end of the hall and took my measurements, he didn’t tell me of course but after leaving the room I don’t remember what happened the next thing I knew I was on a bed in this medium sized room with Apries and the pharaoh leaning over me.
Hey are you alright? Apries questioned
Yeah I think, what just happened?
I don’t know you just passed out.

That awkward conversation went on forever and at some point I blacked out, the very next thing I was aware of was Hor, a boy of about 16 with long white hair and eyes as blue as the sky, entering the room arm waving in the air face grim.
Pharaoh, Sister there are strange men outside and they wont let anyone in. he said in a hurry.
