Yeah...terribly irritated right now. I don't even know why. I'm still slightly under influence of morphine, so I should be deliriously happy or something but whatever. xD ( I just got out of the hospital, I'm not doing illegal drugs people. ;o; )
I come back to the GCD and EVERYONE is wearing daffodils. gonk It's like a trend. I don't think most of the people wearing them even know what they stand for.
Don't get me wrong, what everyone is doing is really kind and considerate-- but don't go thinking yellow daffodils mean that "VO's dad is sick with brain cancer, so we should wear this random flower to show our sympathy".
People are saying "wear the Masque because VO is and show your support" or "wear the yellow daffodil because VO is and show your support" or whatever. The flower does not stand for VO, it stands for cancer.
Yellow daffodils are a symbol of spring days. New beginnings and hope. They're big, unsubtle, and bright. They're powerful in visuals; the flower looks like it has a trumpet, which is strong in itself. The flower is a symbol to hoping and fighting for a cure to cancer.
It started out in New Zealand; they chose the yellow daffodil as a representation for the Cancer Foundation. They sold them for money going towards research for a cure.
In short and more blunt terms, yellow daffodils stand for "******** YOU CANCER, YOU'RE GOING DOWN". Not "Poor VO's dad sad *suckupsuckup*".
I love you dearly VO, but I just want people to know what it really means. xD
Please just keep that in mind.
