Ramblings of the Optional Jesus...
Two of the Best Grandparents In the Entire World

So Granfada I hope you don't mind, Angie and I were poking through your room looking for string, cause I took this ripped bag and remade it into a new bag in honor of your recycling skills. But while we were poking around I found several things:

- A very old plastic top. You know those ones with the metallic paper on top that makes it shiny when it spins?
- A Lord Krishna and Radha button/magnet. I never really saw you as being a religious person, and yet you have that button... You kept it for so long (I know cause it looks old as mess).
- A shawl from probably your only set of Indian clothes that I've never seen you wear...
- Several leather bands. I'm not sure what you were saving them for but Dad and I have come up with a few theories.
- Some of your watches. I asked Aunty Geeta if I could have your cuff band style watch. Dad said you bought it when we went on the cruise but I don't remember ever seeing it. Oh and it was broken and I fixed it :} I took a safety pin and unbent it. Then I went downstairs into your workroom and used some wire cutters to cut it. And I maneuvered it into place so now the clock isn't flapping around on the wrist strap anymore. Aunty Geeta said this proves that I am your granddaughter lol
- But something that made me wanna cry when I found it was one of those square crayons you used to bring from work. It's blue. Amanda is convinced that you have more somewhere downstairs but Angie and I both know that we've never seen anymore. You held onto one crayon all this time. Why? I like to think it's because it has some great memories and just like how we treasure those times we used to sit outside with you and color on the sidewalk, you treasured it too.

Today I was painting the hallway upstairs area and Brayden's grandfather came to pick him up today. And he was running around all excited saying "Granpy! Granpy!" It made me wanna cry. And I said that; then Alyssa asked me why. I told her "Because he's little and stuff and he has a Granpy and I don't have one anymore..." T^T

(Oh jeez I feel the tears coming on...)

Grandma, it's been such a long time since I had a conversation with you. I would give you an update on what's been going on in the six years you've been gone but I'm sure Granfada has that covered. I miss you too Grandma don't ever think that I don't. But you've been gone for such a long time I'm used to going to Aunty Geeta's house and not seeing you there. But Granfada... Well that's a different story. I still feel like I can barge into that house anytime and he'll be in you guys' room, watching TV. Grandma pretty much all of my memories of you revolve around three things, family, food and gardening. Family is a main thing for obvious reasons. Our family is big and when we all got together it was always a blast. Family also plays an important role because there's only one memory I have of you were I can clearly hear and remember your voice. (Which is very sad T^T) Whenever we wanted to sleep over at Aunty Geeta's house and we'd stand there begging Dad you'd say "Awh Nan! Let the kids stay na man." Lol We slept over there so many times we had our own drawer of clothes in your room. You'll be happy to hear that the drawer still does exist, but it's clothing rate isn't as abundant as it used to be. Of course with family gatherings there has to be food. Grandma, you were an AMAZING cook. I know for a fact that there was nothing you couldn't make. Everything always tasted so good and it was never too hot or too spicy and you'd make special things or do special things just for us. Like when you'd make fried fish, you'd pick all of the bones out of a piece before giving it to me. And this one time Kevin said he felt like eating parsad and you got up and made a set of butter parsad just because he felt like eating some. Gardening. You loved it so much. You had all times of flowers and vegetables and stuff it was ridiculous. You used to pay me 25 cents to water your plants for you every afternoon x) Front yard and back yard. You know that bamboo plant is still coming up stronger and stronger every year? And your hibiscuses are huge. You can't even see the fence between them anymore in the Spring and Summer.

I could do this all night, but then I'd get sad. I know you guys are finally together again, and I know you're probably incredibly happy. But I wish you both could be here with all of us. Happy, healthy, strong, and just full of energy and life. It's sad to think that things that used to seem so every day and so common will no longer be that way. Going upstairs to say "Hi," filling up a water bottle with ice, taking down an empty plate of food, watering plants for 25 cents, family dinners, shared birthday cakes, and drawing on the sidewalk... I miss you both so much and I love you a lot. You both were two of the best grandparents in the whole entire world and it may take me a while to make my way up there to see you again but I promise I will someday.

Rest in Peace
