Surviving the terrible accident that claimed the lives of his friends, Thomas had no choice but to wander the savannah alone, hoping he would come across some sign of civilization.

It had been nearly a week since then, and he was giving up hope that he would ever make it home. Sighing, he allowed himself to become distracted as he began to cross a shallow watering hole. That soon proved to be a very dangerous mistake.

Thomas snapped out of his daydream as he heard an animal snort nearby. His eyes widened with horror, seeing that he was standing directly in the path of a large horned beast with shaggy fur. He looked around desperately, but knew there was nowhere to run. A sense of impending doom overwhelmed him as the animal before him began to paw at the ground below the water, clearly preparing to charge.

Thomas closed his eyes and waited for his final moments to end. One minute passed, then another, then yet another. When he opened his eyes at last, he saw that he was alone once more. He fell to his knees, tears welling up in his eyes as he realized the horrific truth.

Like so many others, he too had become a victim of the dreaded water bluffalo.

Thus ends this tale, its disappointing conclusion serving as a warning to us all.
