Just Another Visit

Her footsteps barely made a sound on the carpet as she carefully made her way through the dark house, the high midnight moon causing a slight shadow of everything in the living room. As she walked into the conjoined kitchen, she saw her target: the reason she had woken up this early. She grabbed her grandfather’s wallet, opening it, and peered inside. She looked over both of her shoulders and listened carefully. The loud, raspy snoring confirming that her grandparents and mother were asleep. She snatched ten of the thirty dollars and closed it up. Looking around once more, she swiftly snuck back to her bedroom, stuffed the money in her purse, climbed into bed, curled up under the covers, and gently fell asleep. Yup.
