Ok Eden no Ori by Yamada Yoshinobu is probably one of the top mangas on my list right now. Currently on chapter 85 and still ongoing. What made me like this manga is how it has similarities to Lord of the Flies by William Golding (which is one of my favorite novels). This manga has some uplifting moments but generally shows the darker side of people. Many topics are represented while these school kids and adults try to survive on a strange island. There is a lot of murder, violence, sexual content, etc pretty much the same stuff that made LotF so interesting. I also enjoy how the writer is not against killing off a main character or two. Also on a final note it has one of the best confessions in any manga I have ever seen. So SPOILER ALERT... anyway the man girl is unconscious and a guy is about to rape her. Well the main guy comes in picks her up in both arms turns to the rapist and yells, "THIS IS MY WOMAN!" To bad she was unconscious but the point got across lol.
