Hourglass
Admits the marauders I found peace;
The solitude of a world of my own.
The redundant sound of falling sand
The receding ebb of melancholy breaths.
Ephemeral whispers, silenced by an eternal solace.
Wilting memories, of dreams, of hope, of joy;
Followed me like footprints across the infinite wasteland.
A past that clung to me like a shadow;
Now the decaying remnants of my soul.
Ruined echoes, of a ghost that was a man.
Like an oasis that exist in a mirage.
The flickers of hope that paint its memory;
In the eyes of a dying man.
An indulgent truth, the naming of a dream.
Just like everyone that wanted to be happy;
I was addicted to my own self-destruction;
A moment locked in a grain of sand.
My blind desire of an age lost in youth.
An eroded altar to the fading vesper of peace
A wish drowned in the depths of hollow memories.
In a lie that confessed truth.
I found peace amongst the wanderers.
As a specter lost in an age.
As a verse in the requiem of youth
As the forgotten dreamer in the land of ages
Like the buried grains of fallen sand.
