appears harmless to feed on pleasures of greed
until you lie beneath that which cannot be seen
When plagued by the immeasurable grief
The days that are so hot you can barely breath
felt for timeless years it seems
an age of turmoil, a hell, a prison
No capability to struggle towards ambition
No eyes only screams to hear and forced to listen

mirror my thoughts back to me
Is it wrong to condone such acts of lust?
I have embraced an epiphany
All acts in the name of splendor turn to rust

Why feel the need to take an oath of silence
why does it feel natural to urge the way I do
If I fight to protect then violence is justified
But to fight for the sake of gain is a wrong to few
Those who stand firm by that which is Just
those who find that you can be content with nothing
those who peer into the eyes of sheltered grace
and take what they need without a sense of yearning

I take a stand for those who've been crippled
I take a breath for those who can no longer
I make a pact with courtesy to never let one bend
To let no better man kneel to suffer
I submerge myself in the lies of this mortal world
only to find I become a bitter fool
All that shines is not gold and all that glitters doesn't do so with glee
not every thought is a useful tool
