A Tribute to Gino
A journal about my opinions for the Gaia storyline and perhaps upcoming updates on GINO'S HAREM.
A Ghost in the Attic
I hope you all enjoy my latest Gino Fanfiction.

---

Some days, when I look outside the window, and I look out at everything, I can feel my heart swell as if it's about to burst!

I look back on my life and it seems that things couldn't ever get better, and it surprises me every day that it can. I'm so happy to be right here, right now, in this place! It's hard to think that things have passed by so quickly.

From when I was a little girl to here I am now, it's amazing. Look at all the nice things around me! I turn my head and I see a double king-sized bed with silk purple sheets in a solid gold frame. Look to the other side and through the windowpanes I can see the clearest ocean from here. Why, it's beautiful!

But, this is enough reminiscing. I promised a date to a special young man and I won't be late! I'll be early to surprise him! It's already half past seven.

Just a quick dash down the hall and around a few corners will take me to him! If I could, I would soar through the clouds to see him! He makes my heart flutter and fly. My Gino. My darling Gino!

I can hardly contain my excitement to see him. I'm thrilled I no longer have to refer to a map to get around the house. It was so silly to have had to check every five minutes to see where I was just to find the dining room! Good thing those days and others are behind now. Now there are days filled with nothing but Gino's smiles and a fufilling life!

The doors before me were exquisite and tall, with golden hinges and doorknobs, all very fine. Even with a passing glance I caught glimpses of excruciating detail etched into every little nook and cranny. Did we really, really need details like this? I said to him, I said to my husband, that Gambino of a man, that we didn't need things like this. But he just laughed and said only the best for me. That man! That sweet, sweet man.

I creaked the door open just a crack and I gently slid through it, unnoticed. It wasn't hard to sneak around, I always had a good knack for stealth. I couldn't help but grin ear to ear and I couldn't hold it in any longer!

"Gino!" I called out.

I saw a pair of big bordeaux eyes peek around a corner and a grin as big as mine and he just raced towards me, arms wide open with that adorable face as thrilled as can be. I could see his beautiful blonde hair holding back and bouncing as he ran as fast as he could.

"MAAAAAMMMMAAAAAA!!"

Oohmph! What strength, he nearly took me down this time! He definitely will grow up to be just like his father, that strength, that goodness. I can see it in his eyes.

Gino grabbed onto my skirt and looked at me with those big beautiful eyes. "Mama! I missed you!" He hugged my legs and I swept him in my arms. He was still very light, especially for a boy his age of five.

"Oh, Gino, I missed you too! Look at you! Mama missed you so much! When was the last time I saw you?"

"Las' night!"

"Really? Wow! That's a long long time. When was that?"

"When you read me a sto-ree."

"Oh. Oh! I remember now! It was Beauty and the Beast, right?"

And he giggled! Oh, I could feel my heart melt every time he giggled, "No! Silly Mama! It was Pee-ter Pam!"

"Ooh! Oh yes, Pee-ter Pam. I remember now...Oh, Gino, do you know how Pee-ter Pam got from Wendy's house to Never-Neverland?"

"Ummm," He was so cute! "He flyed!"

"That's right! He flyed! ...Just like you!" And with that, I tossed him into the air and he squeaked the most adorable squeak ever imaginable! But I caught him and he giggled and giggled and giggled. My little Gino!

I held him in the air and ran around with him in my arms. Five years and I still fawn over him just like the day I brought him home from the hospital. But was he not worth fawning over? That adorable smile, that chiming laughter! I could go on for days endlessly shouting out his cuteness.

"Wheeeeeee!" I looked up and he held his arms in the air as I sailed around the luscious toy room filled with every toy imaginable on shelves galore. Gino kept laughing and yelling out in joy, "Yay! I'm Pee-ter Pam!"

"Yay!" I giggled along with him. My baby boy. My darling, darling baby boy. I can't ever get enough of him! "Where does Pee-ter Pam want to go to next?"

"Nevereverland!"

"All right! Tinkerbell will help you get there with her magic fairy flying dust!"

I lifted him low and high and around the room. Gino still laughed and giggled, having the time of his life. I always wish days like this never end, and I'm sure they never will.

"Uh-oh! I'm running out of fairy dust! No! Oh nooooo!" And my Pee-ter Pam landed on the couch and his Tinkerbell beside him. He got up on the couch and bounced up and down giggling as he saw my "landing" with my legs on the couch and my back on the floor. "What? Tinkerbell can crash too!"

But Gino laughed again and then gasped. "Oh no, Tinkerbell!"

"What? What is it Pee-ter Pam?"

"I see Cap'n Hook!"

"Oh no! Let's hide!" And I ducked under a pillow.

"No! Pee-ter Pam NEVER hides!"

He stood triumphantly, his shoulders back and his chest all puffed up and his face so confident! "CHAAAAAAARGE!"

...And so after three tons of fairy dust, a battle in mermaid lagoon, an encounter with the ticking crocodile, and a half an hour later, Captain Hook was defeated, and Never-Neverland was safe once again for the time being.

It seemed we played forever, but it was only a quarter past eight and we have still yet to eat! But, Little Gino zoomed happily around as energetic as can be while I on the other hand, still yawned. No sugar cereal for him today.

I asked for him to have some eggs and a pancake with fruit and he wanted to eat while watching Kiki and Roro. I almost gave in today, but as much as I adore that handsome face, I swore I wouldn't ever spoil him with things like television shows and absurd toys (although his father did otherwise most oftentimes....That man!), but I'd spoil him with love and wisdom as much as I could, and that meant denying some of my baby boy's whims. I hated to see his pout, and sometimes I did give in to him, bet definitely not today! It was much too early in the day. But, I'm glad! Today he didn't make a fuss, but perhaps today he didn't mind because I'm spending more time with him.

It's funny, I watch him eat his eggs just like his father, and yet he rarely ever sees him at breakfast. Cut, cut, play, chew. That's how he did it! He does it systematically while his eyes wander around, just like Johnny when we talk or he is occupied with something or other. It's astounding, and I wonder if Gino ever has unusual quirks that I have that Johnny notices whenever he's with Gino.

"Mama, can I have some of your apple juice?"

I grinned, "Of course Gino, here you go." I put my glass cup to his lips and he scrunched up his face as he grasped the glass, "What is it, Darling?"

"It's 'kay, Mama! I can hold it myself!"

I couldn't help but arch an eyebrow, "Oh? Are you sure?"

Gino nodded, still holding onto my glass, "Uh huh! I'm strong, Mama!"

"Mmhmm," I smiled and let go. He struggled with it and managed to tilt it up enough to get the juice to his lips, but it was definitely much too heavy for him to control. He kept drinking until it overflowed and dripped down his cheeks.

"Waaah!" He let the glass sit in his lap, and wiped his face with his little sleeves.

"Oh, Gino!" It was bound to happen, and I took a napkin and wiped his face.

"I'm sorry, Mama!" He pouted and I couldn't help but grin again.

"It's all right, Gino! You aren't strong enough to hold our big glasses by yourself just yet. Finish up your breakfast and we'll change your clothes, okay?"

"'Kay, Mama!"

I smiled and watched him eat, scarfing down food right then and there with the enthusiasm of his own father whenever he liked to eat. It reminded me that I should start him on a little diet. It was all well for a little boy to eat heartily, but I think Johnny was starting to gain just a little weight...

It wasn't long after when Gino was out of his stained shirt and he was all set to go again. "So, Gino, what do you want to do now?"

"Uh. I wanna go outside!" And he ran up and pressed his face against the glass of his window, "Look! Look! Mama! Butlerflies!"

Indeed there were! "Oh yes! They're pretty, aren't they? Let's get a jar and see if we can catch one."

"Yeah! Let's go, Mama!" And he grabbed my hand and pulled me.

I think he was so excited about the butterflies that he forgot about catching one in a jar, because he dragged me straight around the house and out the back door to the gardens. His little face was so happy when he saw our flower garden filled with butterflies floating in the air.

"BUTLERFLIES!" And he ran amok in them. Poof! A swarm of butterflies and other bugs flew up in a large puff. I couldn't help but laugh!

I caught one flying away from him when it landed on a rosebush, it was a tiny little thing, with big yellow wings. "Gino! Gino, look! I caught one!"

He ran up and smiled with pollen in his hair and his clothes. "Where is it, Mama? I wanna see!"

I opened up my hands very slowly and the butterfly flapped its wings, "It's pretty, isn't it Gino?"

He nodded with his mouth wide open in a big smile, "Mmhmm! It's yellow! Like but-ta."

What a mind. The butterfly flew away and he went off to chase it until it flew too high from his reach. I don't think there was anything better in the world than to watch my Gino at play. I wished things would always be this way, and that Gino could always be this happy.

He waved at me as he sat in a gathering of hibi flowers. Just like his father, he seemed to love them too. I took a seat on the grass and watched him. I was still a little weary about letting him out of my sight outside, ever since that incident a few weeks ago when he was lost in a crowd and I couldn't find him. I think it was a month ago now, actually.

Oh, I remember at that same spot, I'll never forget it--Gino once sneezed and soon after he came up to me, crying with the biggest tears in his eyes holding up a pair of fuzzy yellow catterpillars. I asked him what was wrong and he said "Mama! Mama! I sneezed an' my eyebrows fell off!" He begged me to put them back on his face since they wouldn't stay on. He said they hated him then because they kept crawling off!

I love my son! I wish there was more time in the day to spend with him. It's a shame that Johnny is out on business so often that he can't see Gino as often as I can now. I used to go and help him, but now he's taking care of it all himself. Johnny, oh, he works too hard to keep us happy.

I can see Gino now fumbling with flowers in his hand, trying to do something with them, but I'm unsure what he's trying to do.

"Mrs. Gambino! Mrs. Gambino! Hello!" I turned my head and beyond the stone fence was Ruby! I waved to her and stood up. Out of the corner of my eye, Gino looked up too.

"Ruby! Hello!" I walked over to the fence and opened the gate for her, I saw at her hand was Sasha with a big grin on her face and her thick hair tied up in her usual pigtails. She was a plump girl dressed in another plump extravagant dress full of poof and frills. Honestly, maybe her parents would think she outgrew these types of clothing already? "Hello Sasha! Nice to see you again!"

"Hi Mrs. Gambino!" Sasha waved as much as her arm could.

"Oh, Mrs. Gambino, could you do me a huge favor? I hope you don't think it's impolite of me to ask."

"Oh, not at all, Ruby. Shoot."

"Well, you see, I have this paper to do for school, and Sasha's parents are off again and I have to watch her and--"

"Say no more, Ruby, I'll take care of her while you write up that paper."

"Really, Mrs. Gambino?! OMG, you're the best!"

And before I knew it, I was staring at a puff of smoke with Sasha at my skirt now. Perhaps that was a bit too much enthusiasm from Ruby.

I could feel Sasha staring at me. And then she looked back where Ruby once stood, "Aww," She mumbled.

I looked down at her and I realized that Moira wasn't with her. They were an inseperable pair, but intolerable to eachother, well, at least, Moira thought of Sasha that way. Moira was a very reasonable girl, but more of a tomboy than anything--very antisocial, which was strange for a girl of her age. I remember once talking to her about nonconformity and something about government conspiracies...

"Sasha, where's Moira?"

"...Huh? Oh! Moiry's off in Durem with her parents. She says she's gonna get a tattoo there!"

"Oh really?"

"Yeah! I said that she should get a bunny rabbit and that it should be on her arm and that it should be this one kind of tattoo that's really good and sticky but I can't remember the name and I said that it's a really good tattoo thing because it doesn't come off as easily and then she looked at me funny and then she said that she didn't need to remember the name because she wasn't going to get that kind of tattoo and then I said that she should because it's a really good kind and then she said that it was gonna be real ink and that they put it in with needles and then I screamed and ran off because I hate needles and that it makes me feel creepy whenever I see one and because one time when I was three my mommy said that I got a needle and I screamed and it made everyone in the doctor's office hold their ears because I was real loud and then Moiry called me a baby and that she's tough and then I was sad because I'm not as tough as Moiry and I remembered the name of the tattoos and told her. It's called Stickies Glued Bani Tattoos!"

I don't think I saw her catch breath, but that girl must have some very good lungs. "Oh, hmm! They sound like good tattoos. I bet Moira will come back with a nice one. Come on, Sasha, we should get back to Gino."

"Yeah! Gino! Gino! Gino! Gino!" And she raced off, as happy as can be.
