It was somewhere around midnight
Cold and silent yet still quite loud
I awoke from my light sleep
And clamored out of my seemingly large bed
There was shouting
Loud, shrill, worrying to my childish mind
Quietly I made my way down the stairs
A shatter on the kitchen floor made my small legs move faster.
Finally in the entrance I froze at what I saw.
She was on the floor held by his strong grasp
She looked up at me then her eyes lulled back
And then I must have said his name
Because it didn’t last
So now she may have given me life
But I saved hers that cold, silent, loud night
Cold and silent yet still quite loud
I awoke from my light sleep
And clamored out of my seemingly large bed
There was shouting
Loud, shrill, worrying to my childish mind
Quietly I made my way down the stairs
A shatter on the kitchen floor made my small legs move faster.
Finally in the entrance I froze at what I saw.
She was on the floor held by his strong grasp
She looked up at me then her eyes lulled back
And then I must have said his name
Because it didn’t last
So now she may have given me life
But I saved hers that cold, silent, loud night
