pokemon
In little root town, professor Jackson glanced at the clock and sighed, running a hand through his dark purple hair. The new trainers should be arriving soon, two girls and a boy. e knew they were all coming out of their way to start there, but he would make it worth their time. He smiled, looking at the table filled with about 50 pokeballs. they could have plenty of choices for their future...

A pair of white haired twins stared at the little town below them. "Little root town, a town that cant be shaded any hue." Said the boy. The girl blinked. "that's lame." She said. the boy shook his head. "We're going to be late." He said, and urged the dragonite that they were both mounted on to land. The Pokemon flew down, landing and letting the children off. The girl stroked the pokemon's nose and gave it a kiss. "Thanks, Nite." She said. The boy straightened his uniform, and looked nervously at the pokemon lab. "Come on Avaera." He said to her. The girl nodded and followed him into the lab. The Dragonite left, with one last look at the twin. As Avaera and her brother entered the lab, the Professor got up from his chair and smiled at them. "you two must be Samui and Avaera Mindelan!" He said, smiling. "I'm professor Jackson, I'll be your guide in your very own Pokemon Adventures. Now, both of you come from the prestigous Konwo Academy?" He asked. Samui nodded, as Avaera looked at the pokeballs curiously. "Well, there's one more child who will be joining you in starting a journey today, so we'll wait for her. Then we'll do a few group activities after you choose your pokemon." He told them. The twins nodded, and waited for the other trainer to get there.
Rita happily walked through route 101, taking in the scenery as she went. well, at least she thought it was route 101. She looked down at the map she was holding, turning it a different ways to be sure of where she was. When she had asked for directions in oldale town, she had been told to head in the direction she was currently going. .. But she'd always been directionally challenged. Her siblings always said that a corn maze would be the thing to do her in. She was pretty lucky to have even gotten this close. Getting off of the island dewford town was on was the best luck she had ever gotten, considering she had 2 younger sisters, one younger brother, and two older brothers. Hmm.. When was she supposed to be there? Heh, she was probably so late, there had been so many things on her trip that had distracted her. She blinked, finally seeing buildings through the trees. Yay! She had made it! Stuffing the map into her bag, she ran for the rest of the way. Upon arriving, Rita knew something was wrong. Moving pale brown bangs from her face, she carefully inspected the town, and then froze, and dropped to her knees. Noooooo! She had done so well, and now she was back in Oldale town!!!

The dragonit paused in it's flight, noticing a lost girl standing near oldale town. Curious, he dropped down next to her, and blinked. "Aro?" he asked, pulling out the invite to start a pokemon adventure that samui had left him. Curiously, he pointed at it, then at her, then himself. If she was lost, he would be more than happy to give her a ride...
Rita blinked, then looked up, quite surprised to see a dragonite land next to her. She stood up and watched as it pointed. "huh? ... oh, i got an invite like that. do you know where it is? Can you show me?" She asked. So when the dragonite did whatever, telling her to ride, she carefully climbed on, then held on as it went up in the air. She glanced around excitedly, having never been this high.. and then the dragonite suddenly sped up. Rita started screeching her lungs out, holding on for dear life. When they finally landed, she slowly got off, quite shaken up. "th-thank you very much.." she said, petting the dragonite's snout. She then glanced around, noticing the lab. That must be where she was supposed to go! She ran over towards the entrance, but looked back and waved at the dragonite. "Byeee!" she called, and then turned back around arriving in front of the door. "I'm sorry I'm late!" Rita yelped as she came busting through the door.

The dragonite lingered for a little bit longer, wanting to see Samui again. Eventually, he realized that he wasn't going to come out, so it gave up, and flew away, sadly returning back to the academy.
Professor jackson blinked at Rita's sudden arrival. He glanced at his clipboard, then at her. "You must be rita, right? I was beginning to think that we had lost you." he said with an easy smile. He went over to her, and brought her over to where Samui and Avaera were. Samui gave a friendly smile to Rita. "Hello." He said. Avaera tilted her head as jackson came over with Rita. Jackson gestured to the pokeballs. "Now, you three are going to begin your Pokemon journeys. A land of dreams and endless possibilities awaits you. Inside each of these pokeballs is a pokemon that has been hand bred and hatched by me. They are sorted by elements. Please take your time in choosing which element best suites you. There are three choices for each element, all of them are uncommon or rare pokemon. Each of these will make a marvelous partner." He paused, and stepped back away from the table. " I will personally help you train them and get accustomed to your chosen partner. Also, at the end of your training, i'll give you each a pokedex. I'm assuming your parents have given you a pokegear, or pokenav?" He said. Avaera and Samui nodded, rummaging through their bags, to show their gear. The professor smiled, and gestured to the table. "Please, start looking for your partner. Your first pokemon will always be your most important. Are there any questions?" he asked. Avaera was looking over the table. Each pokeball had a small tag in front of it, explaining about each pokemon, with a picture. She had no questions. Samui shook his head, and looked over the elements. What should he go with? He blinked, noticing one missing. "Why are there no dragon types?" He asked. The professor smiled. "Because only certified Dragon Tamers are allowed to be given dragon types that are that young. I don't have a permit for that." He explained. Samui went quiet, thinking about that.

Rita listened carefully to what the professor had to say. So they had all these pokemon to choose from? wow, this was going to take a long time to go through ALL of them.. Well, she might as well get started. She waited until he finished speaking before she started looking for her first pokemon. Alot of the cute and or fluffy ones caught her attention and she'd stare at the pictures and the information. This... was really hard. She honestly didn't have any elemental preferences. Hmm, it looked like she'd have to take into consideration of which ones she could catch later... As she narrowed things down, she started to become more interested in the Growlithe.. After staring at the pokeball and the tag for a long moment before she slowly reached out and picked it up. The professor had said that your first pokemon will always be your most important, so rita was a bit nervous, and wasn't too sure if she should really take this one... She glanced over at the others to see if they were having as hard of a time as she was.
Samui decided to choose a pokemon on the opposite end of the scale from his beloved dragonite, and looked at the ice types. At the academy, they were encouraged to challenge themselves, so he pondered the different ones, reading the tags. He finally picked up the Spheal's pokeball, and mentally reached out to the creature inside. He was met with an amused cheerful feeling, and the pokeball wiggled. He smiled, and cradled it to his chest. "I'll go with this one." he said. He was confident in his sucess. He'd raised a dratini from age 5, starting over with a little rolly ball shouldn't be a problem. He couldn't wait to start on his journey, after all, the academy had prepared him for this day.
Avaera however, lingered near the water, frowning as she saw nothing to her liking. She moved on, examining the grass types, and paused, spotting bulbasaur. A familiar face.. She'd used an Ivysaur a couple of times. The logical choice was to choose a pokemon that would evolve twice, but challenging oneself was always fun... She wandered over to the flying types, and paused, blinking. Pidgey... Her hand twitched, going towards them, and suddenly she felt an itch in the back of her mind. There was a pokemon here, in this room, that would connect utterly with her, the way Calamity had.. She made her way away from the birds, and paused, reaching out mentally to the pyschic types. All three responded, but they weren't what she was looking for.. Or what had called her. she glanced at the ghosts, no, nothing there.. Another mental nudge, and she looked over in the direction of where the Electric types were. Frowning, she went over there, half expecting a Pikachu. No, there wasn't a pikachu, but some interesting others Avaera hadn't heard of. She frowned, looking at the tags. One caught her eye though. A fluffy sheep.. She reached over, and picked up the pokeball. " ...? What are you?" she muttered, turning it over to examine it. A happy feeling pervaded her mind, and she sighed. "I suppose I'll take this one then." She said. The professor made his way over to Rita. "Growlithes make very loyal partners, good pets, and feirce battlers. The one you have, is feircely loyal, and stubbornly strong. He'd never abandon his trainer, and he's easy to train, too." he said, Eager for the pokemon to be given to their trainers. He nodded at Avaera and Samui though. The pokemon they chose would serve them well in the future. He looked at Rita expectantly, to hear her decision.
Rita blinked when the professor came over to her, a little surprised by this, but she listened to what he had to say. Feircely loyal, and stubbornly strong... She stared down at the pokeball for a moment, then smiled, holding it closer to her. "I'll take this one." she said. She glanced over at the others, trying to see what they had chosen.
The professor smiled, and clapped his hands together once they'd all chosen. "Well, now that you've all picked a pokemon, let's head outside to get to know them!!" he said, ushering everyone out. Once everyone was outside, he smiled. " Now, I want you all to let our your pokemon. We're going to get to know them, and do some simple excercises to help you get accustomed to fighting together with your new partners." He said. He reached into a pocket of his own, and pulled out a pokeball, holding it out as he realeased the creature inside. "Ditto!!" it exclaimed happily. "Me and ditto will instruct each of you personally. Alright, Samui, Avaera, let your partners out." He said. Samui nodded, and released his spheal. "Good choice. Spheal is actually water and ice, and it's moves reflect this. However, it's trademarked move is called rollout, and is actually a rock type attack. I'm sure you know about the move types, am I right?" He asked. Samui nodded. "Yes, my sister and I were experts in the strategy classes. " He said. The professor nodded and smiled. "Good, good! Oh, she seems to like you alot already. Tell me, would you like to nickname her?" he asked. Samui looked down at the spheal who was rolling around happily. "...Marble." he said. The Spheal made a happy noise, and rubbed against samui's legs. The Professor chuckled. "Marble it is." He said, and turned to Avaera, who blinked. "Oh, right." she said, and let hers out. The Mareep came out with a yawn and a stretch. "Reeeeep" It baa'd. Avaera blinked again, and reached out, stroking the soft fluff. She squeaked though, getting a shock from the electricity. "..." Professor cakson laughed. "Mareeps are known for their unique ability to store electricity in their wool, similar to how a pikachu stores electricity in it's cheeks. The Jewel on their tail lights up when they are happy or excited, or will glow consistently when too much static electricity has been stored in it's wool. Those are the times it's electric moves are the most powerful, but be sure to avoid petting it when it's tail is glowing. It's a little slow for an electric type, but makes up for that with it's wide move range and stamina." He explained. Avaera stared at him, listening intently, and then nodding. "She seems rather cheerful. What will you name her?" He asked. Avaera glanced down at the sheep, which was now apologetically rubbing her head against the girl's bare legs. "...Kitty." She stated simply. The professor had to hide another laugh. "Kitty it is then." Secretly he was amused with the names the twins had chosen. For all the skill he could see in them, they still were children. He turned his attention to Rita then, and gestured for her to let out her pokemon. He would give her the same explainations and descriptions as he had for the twins...
Rita watched as the twins sent out their pokemon and the professor told them about the pokemon they had chosen. She blinked though, when he gestured for her to send hers out. She nodded, and let it out. "Groowwwwl!" He growled happily, and then turned to see Rita, his fluffy tail wagging. Rita stared down at him for a moment. Aww! It was so fluffy!! what was she going to name it..?
Jackson smiled as the Growlithe was let out. "Growlithes learn a good balance of special and physical moves, and even though they grow slowly, they make up for it with their unbeatable spirit. This precise growlithe has good blood, and is very smart. He can be trained for specific battle commands, and learn many advanced tricks." He said. "Most police forces and noble families favor them for their feirce loyalty and they make trustworthy gaurddogs." He told her. "what will you name him?"
Rita listened carefull as the professor explained about the growlithe. While the growlithe held his head up pridefully while he was talked about. She then thought for a long moment, what would be a good name for him? "... uhm, Flare." She finally decided, staring down at the happy growlithe.
The professor smiled, and clapped his hands together. " Those are all wonderful names for your partners!" He exclaimed, and grinned at the newly appointed Pokemon trainers.
Avaera played with one of her pigtails as she observed her new partner. Kitty had big expectations to live up to. Avaera didn't believe any pokemon could replace Calamity. Samui was thinking along the same lines, but with a more open heart. MArble would be fun to train.
Professor Jackson looked at them all. "Why don't you take a little time to get to know each other, and your partners? Interact, and learn how to pet them, or what they like. Show them who you are, or talk to them." He encouraged. Samui took this as a cue, and looked over at Rita and Flare. "Growlithe huh? It's cute." He said, trying to begin a conversation.Avaera was more interested in staring at her mareep than being social. She poked at it's head, getting a 'reeeep' in response. She tilted her head, and it followed in response with a tilt of it's own head. "... .."
Rita nodded, and smiled. "Oh thanks! Your Spheal is cool too." She replied, looking over at his spheal.
Samui smiled, and scratched the back of his head. what else did one usually talk about? His twin was being difficult, and it showed that him and this girl would most likely turn out to be opposites, she had a fire type, and his was water/ice. He frowned, a little perplexed.
Jackson cleared his throat, and decided to step in to help out. "Rita! Let's start with your growlithe." He pointed, and Ditto transformed into Growlithe.
"I'll show you how to groom it's fluff, so that you don't make it mad at you. You start with soft strokes, and only get harder once all the tangles are out." He demonstrated with a brush, brushing his ditto's furr, before putting the brush down. "Now, for the attack types. You'll need to make sure to feed him regularly to keep the power of his fire type moves up, and make sure his tail stays fluffy for iron tail. Excersise regularly too to keep up his agility. Let's demonstrate. Ditto, begin with flamethrower, then use agility before performing Iron Tail." He commanded. The Ditto growled in understanding, and flames began to build up around it's muzzle, as it released a torrent of flames to the ground, before running away suddenly, zigzaging at incredible speed before leaping with a glowing tail fluff to strike the charred ground. It landed on it's feet, and wagged it's tail, tongue hanging out. JAckson chuckled, and ruffled it's head. "Now, other moves to look for are Heat wave, Crunch, and sunny day. Sunny day is a support move to power up it's fire type moves. Crunch can be strengthened by getting him chew toys. Heat Wave is a powerful move. Only use it in a pinch, as Flare is a little young to be able to handle the kind of flames it creates." He paused, and looked at Rita. "Questions? Would you like to try out a few of the moves and your sync with Flare? Try Copying what I did, or make your own variation from what I've told you. In fact, attack Ditto here as a target." He instructed.

Both Avaera and Samui were interested in watching this demonstration. Their pokemon were entranced as well.
