What's up on the fly tip:
What're we waiting for?

Tom was just a boy rarely standing out from the crowd. At a young age Tom realized, because of his grandfather's death, that he too was going to die. This did not drive him to morbidity nor did it show in any other way except for in his utter lack of fear. Tom feared nothing anymore because he knew he was going to die, in fact he knew that everyone would die.
He also thought about the two experiences every person shares: birth and death. Tom thought as hard as he could but could not remember being born. He found with little imagination he could picture himself dying in ten thousand horrible ways. Tom decided when he was ten years old he'd stop waiting.
The newspaper obituary was only seen by the family for it was too small to be noticed at a casual glance.
Tom's tenth birthday went swimmingly. Tom was happy and excited. After the party and cake and just before bathtime Tom did a sneaky thinh.
At bathtime Tom filled the tub as always, got undressed as always but contrary to his usual bath routine the young boy went to the cupboard under the sink and removed the shiny metal toaster he had placed there earlier.
Tom plugged in the shiny appliance beside the sink. As the naked boy holding the toaster walked slowly to the tub the toaster's electrical cord tipped a lotion container off the counter and onto the bathroom floor.
Tom stepped into the warm water. For a moment he stood with his eyes closed. He thought he would die as soon as he touched the water while holding the toaster. Bless a ten year old's concept of electricity. He turned around and followed the cord back to the socket trying to comprehend the science of the operation.
While he stood there holding a potentially lethal toaster his mother came into the room inquiring on his father's behalf of the so called racket he was causing. She was completely shocked and appaled by the tableaux before her. Without thinking she reached for the drooping cord and yanked the shiny toaster out of her son's hands...
