Build: athletic

Abilities

Plotline
- Soulbound: Soul is magically binded to body; prevents soul-targeting abilities
- Ritual Master: can enact ancient blood rites for various purposes; usually soul-linking or body transfer, or even true death
- Fate Breaker: No weaver of fate can command his actions

Expert Meleer, improvised style [balanced]
*style description
- striking focus primary (hand, foot, elbow, knee, head)
- dodge secondary

Discontinuity Conduit
A deeper connection with the void, the negative space of reality, grants Des the ability to mimic some of its properties. Thus, he acts as if enmeshed in an entropic field. Mana, energy, life, and godly power simply hit 'nothing'.
- nul-elements on self [passive]
-- full spectrum from fire to water to ice to air to earth to anything that can be considered an elemental attack. Nuls direct elemental attacks. A thrown fireball dissipates harmlessly on contact. Wind blades do not penetrate the flesh. Stone imprisonment fails to trap. Controlled electric attacks fizzle on contact. HOWEVER, naturally occuring elements still damage; such as a redirected naturally-occuring lightning strike. A magicly guided one fails to damage.
- nul-psionics on self [passive]
-- any attempt to scry or directly target through mental exertion, nulled (The Force included). For example, a psionic 'push' would be completely ignored; while a thrown object still connects and does its normal damage.
- nul-divine on self [passive]
-- "where's your god, now?" nulls all offensive divine magics, directly or indirectly targeting. EX: attempts to cure, bless, curse, inflict wounds upon, soul trap, circle against evil, etc that are targeting character or zoned fail to effect. However, if you raise zombies, Des will have to fight them.
- nul-energy on self [passive]
-- includes plasma lasers, ki energy, solar energy, postive/negative energy, non-elemental energy. Blaster shots absorbed harmlessly. Ki blasts go poof. Sunbursts/solar flares simply have no effect. Mega-flare-like attacks fail to damage/effect.

HoH Restriction
Above is the list of classifications of abilities that can be negated/nulled. Said nulling ability will only work THREE(3) times per fight. It is an immediate reaction, so I get to choose WHEN it nulls. HOWEVER, it can only null a singular effect at a time. For example, a pyroclastic blast. I can null the fire damage, or I can null the concussive damage, but I can't null both effects.
ALSO. Before I can null again, I must spend a full-round action(entire post with no other action), to be able to null anything else. Story-wise, this is the build-up of nega-energy that must be expended, HARMLESSLY, through a (visual) effect.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the null/negation is a contact effect. Any spell or spell-like ability or supernatural ability must hit my character directly to be elible for negation. Using a lightning bolt to blow up the ground at my feet still results in its full damage. Propelling a physical object with one's mind, including augmentation of a physical attack, can not be nulled. HOWEVER, if the attack uses a damage-improving magical effect, like added fire damage, that CAN be negated. The fire damage, not the strike. The negation does not effect spells/supernatural abilities used by the opponent to augment theirselves. If an opponent creates a fire aura, striking the opponent can only negate the damage for one hit, but does not cancel the aura.

Equipment:
- shorts (worn)
- lotsa wraps (worn)
- dagger bandolier (X20 daggers)(backpack)
- reinforced steel gauntlets(backpack)
- spare shorts(backpack)
- backpack

Fighter: Joseph Patrick Walsh

Damage - (3) Well, you did manage to stab him in the wing, and the striker helped. Unfortunately you only managed to stab him in the wing, and the striker helped. While the damage was significant, it was the only damage done by Joseph throughout the fight.

Control - (1) I didn't see any. The only thing that kept this from going lower is that the shoulder stab managed to keep Alan from completely shredding Joseph into Joey-Bits™.

Creativity - (1.5) I don't really know how the laser arena got there, when it wasn't in the description or listed anywhere else, actually. My best guess is that it was airlifted onto the location moments before the fight started. That said, it looked like you were going somewhere with the arena you created, only to follow it up with whatever it was that I just read. Alan managed to use the arena you created more than you did.

Logic - (0) Mr. Walsh, what you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent fight were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational post. Everyone in this guild is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your aura.

lolwut: (-1) No, really. Let me break it down. Joseph was on the ground with his energy katanas in hand. Then, I can only assume based off of Tale Feather's post, he's suddenly above Alan, moving downward to try to stab Alan. Then he somehow twists himself out of the way back UP and to the side, then slams himself against the floor. I don't understand how this can possibly work. You also ignored attacks. On top of that, Joseph was already covered in water, yet somehow his aura barrier protected him from being frozen - a barrier that only seemed to exist right at that second. On top of THAT, Joseph follows up by kicking his way through the plywood that's in front of him, instead of trying to escape in virtually any other direction or push himself OFF of the plywood instead. Even then, it seems to be assumed that he's frozen throughout most of his midsection. This would include his torso and arms, which would be much better suited to aid in getting his lower body moving towards his head, not trying to get his arms, torso, and upper body through the narrow space where his legs and feet are. Also, TIER 0.

Total: 4.5 (5.5 - 1 for lolwut)

This entire fight felt like you looked for the most logical course of action, identified it, then did the opposite. This is especially true at the end of the fight. I honestly don't know what else to say.

Damage - (2.5) Damage was okay - the slam at the start and a few strikes, but for the most part it felt like there could have been a lot more to this fight than what there was.

Control - (2.5) A good portion of the fight seemed to be both of them hugging their problems out. While in some cases this can be good when a fight is toe-to-toe or back and forth, watching two fighters slow dance is altogether less interesting.

Creativity - (2) I was expecting a lot more from someone that taught every fighting style to every fighter ever. Instead, there was the initial slam, and that was really about it. The rest of the fight was the aforementioned hugfest and some basic strikes.

Logic - (2.5) I get that Samayou is Big McLårgenhüge. I do. But it's not an excuse to shrug off attacks. While the fight was readable, it did take me a few attempts to fully understand where your posts were going. On top of that, the aforementioned problems with shrugging off or ignoring damage - being pushed by Tres, he should have hit the floor or at least been pushed back by the blow, for example.

Total: 9.5 (-1 Delay of Game) = 8.5

Even the best fighters can get tired after taking several shots. Yes, I get that Samayou probably got God Almighty to tap out at some point, but against the majority of powerful Gaians, saying or assuming that attacks aren't effective just doesn't fly.

Damage - (3.5) There were a few solid blows in there, including the heel strike and the Superman punch. Unfortunately the rest of it pretty quickly devolves into an extended, awkward hug.

Control - (3) It was probably said hug that put Desecrator at a slight disadvantage near the end of the fight, if only because Lovi was so effectively able to counter him with the elbow strike. Even so, Desecrator managed to keep control of the fight, if just barely.

Creativity - (2) A few quick attacks and more than one attempt to throw Lovi, but other than that there wasn't a lot to see. Though the arena is mentioned somewhat, and part of the robots are used, there wasn't much more to see.

Logic - (2) A couple of issues here - posts were a bit difficult to read at times and lacked a certain flow that caused me to have to go back over them more than once to figure out exactly what was going on. Lovi had an issue with not really stating what damage, if any, came from Desecrator's attacks; your issue was more with some awkward dodges and somehow pushing Lovi away and throwing her to the ground at the same time, then falling on top of her.

Damage (4) - This is your only good score, because the damage dealt was solid. Alan basically threw himself into Joseph's blades initially, resulting in the first solid amount of damage. Alan then jerked back that made the wound on his wing even worse; finally, Rhezzo's striker just completely ruined the wing, crippling it entirely and starting some significant blood loss. Alan was definitely mangled from this fight.

Control (2) - Though his damage was high, Joseph was played like a fiddle by Alan. His attempt at using the laser tag maze as an advantage was turned right around on him because of the darkness, the flames and finally the water. At the end of it all, Joseph was at the mercy of Alan due to being trapped in ice, which resulted in him being KO'd.

Creativity (1.5) You get the .5 because of your initial attempt to utilize the laser tag maze to try and confuse Alan. It was a good attempt, but because you never tried to utilize the arena in any other way (besides noting some holes in the walls to use as escape points), this goes nowhere. Joseph's posts were extremely short, with almost no description whatsoever, making it difficult to feel anything for the character. The last bit of the fight was just bleh too, because of the ridiculously-long ground session.

Logic (1) Why must I give you another 1 in logic, Deathgra? WHY MUST I? First of all, when you went into the laser tag room, you completely ignored the existence of Tale's first thrown skee ball. I can SOMEWHAT understand this, as Joseph was moving, but you didn't even acknowledge it. Next comes a perfect dodge in the form of ducking when he heard a door creak - why didn't Joseph just hunch his shoulders in a cringe, thus just getting hit in the arm so that he took a hit but didn't get hurt too bad? Then there was the mid air dodge you did...despite being on the ground and committed to a downward stab. I could have seen you turn and fall to dodge one but get hit by the other, but you cannot have realistically dodged both side stabs. Finally...Jesus, what is with you and the plywood? Joseph was pinned to the ground because of the ice, yet you somehow thought that breaking a plywood wall next to him would free him. Deathgra...if he had placed his foot against it to brace himself and then push, that could have worked - breaking it would have the exact opposite affect. This fight just did not make any sense at all on your end.

lolwtf (-1) - Because of ******** TIER 0.

Fighter: Samayou Tamashii

Damage (3) - Sama's damage was entirely blunt force trauma to Tres, and while it was pretty brutal, it was sparse and not crippling. Due to Sama's strength, the knee blow and the slam were very painful, even for someone like Tres, but that is the only damage he managed to dish out on the psionic warrior.

Control (2.5) - MEATY MAN HUGS. Both Sama and Tres were engaged in a grapple for more than half of the fight - while Sama initiated it, Tres was able to keep himself even throughout the entire thing and delivered more attacks against him. Even when he finally managed to throw him (which I felt wasn't a logical counter to Tres' own counter, given Sama's imbalance), Tres immediately got back up to get back into the fight.

Creativity (2) Once again, MEATY MAN HUGS. There was nothing interesting at all about the grapple, which consisted of more than half the fight. I do like how Sama slammed Tres through the table and then chair slammed him, but that really was a minor reprieve in a very uneventful fight. Remember, grappling should be mixed with striking - Sama should have broken after the first unsuccessful bit for some fisticuffs/object smashing, then maybe have done some more grappling, and so on and so forth.

Logic (3) There were some issues in logic - namely, Sama being far too HURRRRRR against someone who is very strong. Now, I do not expect Tres to overpower Sama at all, but he does have more than enough strength to do the arm push against his chest, which should have logically resulted in either Sama getting pushed back or getting pushed to the ground. Tres, being smaller and having an even better center of balance than Sama, should have been able to execute that move solidly. The only other issue was Sama not really being affected at all by Tres' punches - I do not want to see him being immune to other people's punches, as Tres is a damn strong competitor. Besides these, though, your other actions were fine.

Fighter: Desecrator

Damage (3.5) - Desecrator was able to give Lovi some serious pummeling. Right off the bat he managed to nail her with a kick to the face, followed by the superman punch - both of which were fully successful in their intended hits. The kidney punch would have been great, as those/liver punches are just brutal, but he still managed to hit her at least. The score would have been higher, but Lovi is pretty durable and Des wasn't able to get his ground & pound out before the match ended.

Control (3.5) - For most of the fight, Desecrator was on the continued offensive. Lovi was forced to employ counter attacks to deal with him, most of which were unsuccessful. While Des didn't dominate her as badly as Ko did in the prelims, he was clearly in control for the majority of the match. The only instances where control slipped was when Des got elbowed harshly in the face and when Lovi took him to the ground with her.

Creativity (3) - Your fight this round was a good bit better in creativity, but still not perfect. You began with a great opening, even if it didn't get anywhere (besides starting an opening for Des), it was still a solid beginning. However, after that, the match became purely melee. Now, this isn't awful, as the posts were not boring, but they weren't amazingly entertaining either. So, I would still recommend you use more of the arena, though you are on the right track toward making Desecrator being a more enjoyable character to read.

Logic (4) The logic you displayed this round was a lot better than the prelims, which is great. All of your moves were easy to understand - their actual execution was also sound. In addition, there was almost no bullshitting - almost, in that I feel that you could have taken a few more hits than you did (considering how many Lovi took), but you still took some damage, so it is only a small issue.

Damage - (3.5)

Despite how the rest of the fight went, you did manage to land a single hit on your opponent (not counting the Striker Assist) which cut into his arm and impaled his wing (which was then made worse by the separation). With the Assist included, your team more or less incapacitated Alan's left wing entirely. This would be good, except that even with one limb out of commission he still had 5 others compared to your 4.

Control - (1)

There wasn't much of this. The first third of the fight was spent feeling around in the dark. The second third of the fight was spent with a bird-man on top of you. And the final third, despite having regained a bit of ground when you pushed him over, was spent frozen to the floor. You made a few stabs at openings that presented themselves but Alan was the bird of prey and you were... the prey.

Creativity - (2)

I'll give you credit for being unconventional. The maze and the holes in the walls and even the construction materials... but any points that might have been gained for that were ruined by the repeated and frequent nonsense I saw in there. It was more than just thinking of stupid ways to respond to attacks, there were some attacks that just weren't mentioned at all and the content of the posts was far too short in some areas to understand just what the heck you were talking about. It is not a good-old-time to read posts that reply to "he stabs you in the arm" with "well I stab HIM in the arm first". 2 points because I liked some of the IDEAS you had. Only 2 points because none of them presented themselves well.

Logic - (1.5)

I didn't know what was going on half the time. I had to read Tale's response in order to understand your post. This is not a good thing. The logic behind many of your reactions and defenses (or lack thereof) was perplexing... A few attacks were just neglected entirely, and others (such as the fire wave) were avoided without any explanation given. You get 0.5 points for understanding that the pointy end goes into the bad man. You get 1 point for trying to use Tier 2 to save your a** because despite how lame the move is it is logical to use it when you are completely ********. The rest of your points are in my pocket, and you can have them when you've earned them.

Damage - (2)

A knee to the ribs, a body slam, and a chair that didn't quite work out. It's a good start but the fight didn't really get into full swing so the damage didn't have a chance to build up like it would have in a longer exchange.

Control - (3.5)

Between the two of you, Sama had a bit more control just because if his ability to force actions in close quarters more than Tres was able to. The psion countered the throw with his adhesion, but it didn't last forever and once it was done he had difficulty keeping the man-handling off of his tender bits.

Creativity - (3)

Hmm... I'll go with 4 points for the small glimpse of Zhangief that we saw in this short fight, minus 1 point for trying to bodyslam Tres for 3 out of the 5 posts.

Logic - (4)

Hard to get around the simple effectiveness of "big guy grabs you by the balls and lifts" when it comes to close quarters fighting. The logic is high here because there were few moves, and the ones that were present were simple and effective. If there were more moves, this score may have gone down depending on how much exploitation of "I am large, I ignore your struggling" went on.

Fighter: Desecrator

Damage - (3)

The damage that Desecrator dished out in this fight is akin to what one would expect in a slugfest - except without the part where he gets hit back. He landed a good number of solid hits on Lovi and she had one small cut, but even though the impacts were good she was built Ford tough and trucked through them without letting the damage disable her. Not to be confused with not reacting to the damage or taking the damage, but considering that nothing was cut or broken she was only slowed down a little by the beating she took.

Control - (3.5)

Though the beating she took did slow her down, which gave Desecrator even more room to beat her again. His combination of wide dodges and quick retaliations kept her from getting into a good pace for the fight and kept him in a better position when he would have been the worse one off if they had just stood there trading punches.

Creativity - (4)

I'll give a fair amount of credit for doing well at chaining your attacks and evasions together during the match; even though any one of them out of context might be somewhat bland taking them together gives more weight to the flow of combat as a whole. A few things seemed a little odd and out of place though... perhaps trying too hard to do 'something cool' such as the flip kick right at the beginning.

Logic - (4)

It might have been the lack of exposition that hurt it but a few of the evasions/counters that Desecrator performed against Lovi's attacks seemed like they were more effective than they should have been. Aside from that his actions were simple, straightforward, and entirely geared toward beating the pulp out of his opponent. Though mentioned above for feeling out of place, I'm going to mention the flip kick here as well just because it seems inconsistent with the rest of Desecrator's actions - while he used low rolls and direct attacks at every other point in the fight that kick was an over-dramatic acrobatic maneuver with a lot of wasted effort put into it.
