I've come to realize it was utterly pointless pretending you knew who I was, and for something I knew I'd never get in return. I knew this the very moment you looked me in the eye. But it does puzzle me as to why, why I still had hope. I knew it yet I wrote it off as, as a lie? That you would come back and whisk me off my feet like you had done so many years ago? It was foolish, naive, childish, whatever you may, to believe such blasphemy. I had wasted so many of my nights, days, dreams, hopes, wishes, on such a foolish thing as to believe I was your one and only songbird. But I was wrong.
I was so very wrong.
But who was to blame here? No one but I, my darling. So enough of this heart killing charade, Songbirds heart is no yours no more.
