As I'm about to cross Cooper and head down Winona to catch my bus, a woman in a beat up Chevy pulls over and stops in front of me. Nearly running my foot over in the process. She has three coolers and two kids in the car with her all the windows rolled down. It's clear the AC doesn't work because the kids are literally baking in their seats. Moaning, groaning, and perhaps even a little frustrated that their mother doesn't know what she is doing.

Their mother leans over a cooler and asks me where Moxie street is.

I have never heard of Moxie street.

"Well," she whines, "I was told it's by the fire house across the street from Seabreeze. And Seabreeze is this way right?" She points ahead of herself down where Cooper meets St. Paul.

Ok, yea, I know where Seabreeze is. I tell her she hast to turn around and take Titus to the Seaway Trail which is where the 590 ends, or fallow the signs at Culver.

"Well, can't I get there by going in the direction I'm heading now?"

No, I say, you have to turn around. This road will take you miles from where you are going.

"Well, Do you have a cell phone I can barrow? You see we are trying to meet some friends."

I have a phone but I've got my bus to catch and my own places to be.

"Well, Are you sure I can't get there by going strait?"

I'm positive, you have to turn around and take Titus.

"Well, I'm just going to keep going in this direction."

The woman punches the gas and speeds off squealing down towards St. Paul, and into streets unknown.
As I finally cross the street and walk to the bus, I first wonder if this was why husbands never let their wives ask for directions.
That and I might end up punching the next person that continually whines the word 'well'.
