So my computer is an hp pavilion zv5000 with 1 GB of RAM and 43 GB of hard drive space.
It's severely messed up. The battery doesn't work, the ethernet port is broken because the previous owner tried to jam a phone line into it, over half of the memory is taken up by the second operating system that I don't even use, and the touchpad doesn't work.
Today, I went to an electronics store with my parents.
My father was looking at the hard drives and picked out a 250 GB hard drive.
Previously, he'd told me he was going to get a new hard drive for my current laptop.
So I asked him, "Hey Dad, that will work for my laptop right?"
Him: Yeah, but I'm getting it for the fix-up laptop my friend gave me for free.
Me: ... I thought you said you were going to get a new hard drive for my free laptop.
Him: How about you just use the one I'm going to put this in?
Me: Because I like the one I'm using, and you told me that you were going to do this.
But that's not what really irks me.
We bring it home, and he installs it in the fix-up laptop..
and then installs an operating system I will NEVER use because it's not compatible with any of the programs I use besides Google Chrome.
This also irks me because he already HAS a fully functional laptop that is better than my own AND a desktop with two huge monitors. My mother also has a fully functional laptop that is better than my own. So who's going to use the one with the 250 GB hard drive? Nobody. It bothers me that my dad can afford to spend money on something he'll never use, but complains when my mother and I ask if we can go to my foster brother's wedding in another state this summer.
Someone PLEASE tell me what's up with that. e _ e;
